DapperCam
Sam Martin in the worst starting punter in the league. I present to you the PFF grades for the preseason. He is below a bunch of punters that were released. 1 3 2
Scott7975
I’ll take a place kicker first. Relying on Bass scares me more than a shanked punt here and there. 6 7 1

Blank Stare
That’s interesting. To the eye, I actually thought he looked pretty good in preseason. And I’m not a big Sam Martin fan. Thought he hit it well. 5
MJS
He looked pretty good in the preseason to me.
Orlando Buffalo
I am much more concerned about holding for Bass. If our punter cost us 20 yards a game it is nothing compared to costing us 3 points on a FG
JP51
Agree with majority need a new FG before a punter. Hopefully we don't punt much lol
Miyagi-Do Karate
Sample size for pre-season punts seems too small to be doing rankings. 1
Heathcliff
When he hits it well he always out kicks his coverage. Our ST are a dumpster fire.
hondo in seattle
Should have never released Punt God.

TheyCallMeAndy
Ah yes, preseason PFF punter rankings part of the offseason.
Doc Brown
I know he shanked a ball in the first game but I don't really remember him being that bad besides that. Maybe my expectations are so low it clouds my judgement.

NoHuddleKelly12
Can’t we just let Allen airmail it deep on 4th and thus get a better net average? 🤷♂️ Punting problem solved. 👍
BillsFan130
He is a pretty medicore punter Is he the worst? Probably not. But he is probably somewhere in the 22-28 range

But if there is one group that doesn't depend on game-planning, it's special teams. In this instance, the suckage remains a valid concern.
benderbender
When the logic for backup QB is “it doesn’t matter because if Josh is hurt we’re screwed anyway,” why would the punter expectations/qualifications be any different?
unbillievable
Do we really want to waste cap money on a player that punts twice a game?
