We do it to protect us from them barking and running around excitedly. high energy dogs are great for running off deer but not so great when they're expending it in the house. Ours remember many words: Out, in, their names, our names , some of our friends names, the sound of each of our cars, bad, good, all the basic and a few advanced commands ("load up "is for the cart or the car), football (they hate football games - too noisy) etc. Interesting that the piece shows a pic of a Border.
