What do you define as great? Let's say for example he throws for 4,100 yards (his lowest since 2019), scores 27 total TDs (lowest since 2018), and still throws 14 INTs, do you think that will support the negative narratives about him? Josh Allen has the most tds in NFL history to this point He has the second most playoff tds in NFL playoff history for a QB in his first ten playoff games He is tied for the 4th most passing touchdowns in NFL history for a QB in his first 6 years He has the most tds over a 4 year span ( before and after the merger) in NFL history Allen is second in passing touchdowns since 19 and 20 ( 6 behind mahomes). If you took out all of Allens rushing production he has still tied Peyton Manning in passing touchdowns in his first 6 years starting, yet has about 30 less int over that same 6 years starting... He has the lowest int percentage in NFL playoff history He has the 3rd LEAST amount of turnovers in NFL playoff history for a QB in his first ten playoff games He has more playoff tds than Burrow Lamar Herbert and Lawrence combined.... If you took out Allens best playoff game and took out burrow and Lamars worst playoff game, Allen still has a higher passer rating, higher td %, higher passing touchdown %, higher qbr ... If you take away all of Allens wildcard stats He still has better overall playoff numbers than Lamar and burrow. Allen since 2020 in the regular season and postseason he has almost 100 more tds than Lamar... A frickin hundred...lol Allen overall record vs mahomes 3-4 ( since 2020} Allen record vs mahomes since 21 (3-2) Allen in those past 5 games vs mahomes 16 tds 1 turnover Mahomes 11 tds 5 turnovers Allen has a career playoff passer rating of 100... Allen at age 28 has already tied the great Jim Kelly in playoff passing touchdowns (21) Can someone explain wtf is going on??? QB's are still primarily judged by team success and you don't really get on the list of great one's until you've either won 1 or been to multiple.
DaBillsFanSince1973
just out of curiosity I looked up how old JK was in his first super bowl. Jim Kelly was 30 years and 347 days old in Super Bowl XXV against the Giants on January 27, 1991. I believe JA may make it before he reaches 30.

Amazing how relatively young people look old when you look back at old footage, even though you're getting old yourself but still think you're young when you look in the mirror. This would be great in my opinion and would not support those narratives. Btw I don’t agree with the overrated label so I am expecting his stats to be in that range if not better. Along with the team to either win the division or make the playoffs as a wc regardless of the quality of weapons.

JK and I are the same age. how true that we don't see ourselves age looking in the mirror daily, all the while we really are aging. at 30, things did change some as far as losing the youthful look. now, I don't look like the same person I was at 30. edit: you also have to factor in he liked his alcohol and likely had a few years of it under his belt by 30. alcohol has a way of aging one more so than those who don't drink. Luka
Except in big games like in the playoffs, he plays damn near perfect. It's his coach and the rest of the team that I would call overrated at this point.
BigDingus
I know we all have dislike for anything with Nick Wright, but even he defends Allen here (as does Broussard). Yes, he starts by saying he's "a touch overrated as a passer," but then goes on to explain he's still a better passer than Lamar & most others. Broussard says he's on a "HOF trajectory" and is only 2nd to Mahomes in most categories. Give it a watch if you can tolerate any Nick Wright 😂

wakingfane
As far as trash talking, I'm pretty sure he is having fun with it vs. someone who takes themselves very seriously and is cut throat about sh*ttng on others. I'm guessing he'll say other QBs just really need to raise their trash talk game, lol
RobbRiddick
This whole list was thought up to get some extra click bait before the season. The fact that Bryce Young is down as one of the most underrated QBs says it all. The guy was a rookie who did nothing. How does that make him underrated?

The only knock on Josh that I think is fair is the criticism of his genuine boneheaded ints. The ints in general I don't give a ***** about because if he doesn't make the throws that leads to those then he stops making such spectacular plays that lead to points. But some of his ints, just a few each year, are the genuine insane throws when you cannot even begin to defend them. The one that springs to mind the most is that one into the end zone against the Jets on opening day last season. That was just a reckless throw that never stood a chance, and his mistakes in that game are what led to the loss. Like we could have handed it off most of the night and the Jets were never going to win. He got carried away with it being Monday night football, opening week of the year. I'd also say he gets too down when he's having a bad game. A guy like Burrow doesn't seem as affected by it, but Josh looks borderline suicidal on the sidelines and in the presser after. I'd like to see him shake himself out of those funks when things are going badly, if he improved that part of the mental game he'd be unstoppable IMO

Even if he didnt make the Top 3, he made the Top 5. Disagree on the overrated but whatever, that's just defensive players with hurt feelings. Biggest trash talker makes sense, and also probably why some players said he's overrated. See: butthurt. People are just jealous cause they wish they had a qb like Josh Allen on there team and they dont
nedboy7
Along with tons of his fans within Bills Mafia, NBA star LeBron James took to social media and even had to say how much he did not agree with that title bestowed upon Allen. James wrote via his social media account on Instagram and made his stance known. James said: “I GUARANTEE he’s at the top of the scouting report before playing Buffalo offensively! So who cares”
DapperCam
#1. I can't imagine this is a randomly sampled group of players. For all we know it's primarily from division opponents (ahem...Pats are next to ESPN headquarters). #2. I also have to think that the group of players that voted "Biggest trash talker" had a big overlap with players that voted "Most overrated". I.e. a bunch of butt hurt defenders that Allen probably embarrassed. Also, it said an NFC West opponent said he had too many turnovers. Allen has owned the NFC West in every match up (like nearly perfect games...). So, another butt hurt player that got roasted by Allen.

first_and_ten
I just love this. Of course they said he was the most overrated. It's how he makes them feel when he runs them over and trash talks at them.🤣😂 They got their feelings hurt, so since they can't stop him on the football field, they go after him with this silly survey. Please give Josh some more motivation😇 1 hour ago, Alphadawg7 said: Mic drop Great post!!
