I know a lot of people like the story but he would’ve been fine on the practice squad. He may develop into something more but right now he’s a liability in coverage.

He'd have got claimed. Put the vet nobodies like Morrow on the PS.

He played that much because they weren't playing Cook, Davis, or Johnson, and Evans got hurt.  He was literally their last RB.  It's why Hamler ran in the TD late.

I get that.  But I still think they could have brought someone in for the game, or figured out another option so they didn't risk injury to someone they valued

Contrary to popular belief on here, not every player the Bills cut will get claimed. Maybe he would have, maybe he wouldn’t have.

I haven't seen a complete breakdown of the 53 man roster and just putting pieces together, sounds like we are DB heavy and thin at WR.  Could it be that Isabella is the "wink wink, we're cutting you but will re-sign you in a couple of days" guy and is signed after Hardy goes to IR?  I don't love Isabella...but this staff seems to like him and he gives them another returner.

When and how did Hardy get hurt?  Did McDermott say anything about that after the game? This must be a real injury and not the IR stash we did last year with Shorter because Hardy balled out this offseason.

Nobody seems to know the details yet, but Joe Marino is saying he thinks IR for Hardy may be a real possibility (not sure if that's of the 4 game variety or the season-ending variety, or what the difference even is any more).

Agreed that Hardy balled out and is an exciting prospect moving forward. It just might not be this calendar year that sees him making contributions. Even if he makes it back from IR this year, I could see him being a regular gameday inactive.

Not every Bills player has put what Andreessen did against Pittsburgh on tape. I am far from an "every cut will get claimed" guy.

What you do with corpses is your business, but I don't see how one would help on the sideline.

We had Dick Jauron already.

It looks that way.

I hope so. Need some good news since outside of keeping Grable it’s been lackluster. Maybe Beane has a WR trade up his sleeve and MVS is put on IR lol

Yeah.  Andreessen needs time to season but he flashed genuine NFL talent as a UDFA without having spent much time in a major college program.  Very good chance another team would have taken a flyer on him had we not kept him.

Weirdly, I'm not rooting for anyone.  They may all be equally great kids who 'deserve' a chance to fulfill their dreams and earn a spot on an NFL roster.

I'm just curious about how Beane is building the roster.  I'm happy for the young men who make the final 53 and sad for the ones who don't.

Obviously you are not a semi-professional GM like most of the posters on this board.. (and Joe B.)

I think Cain is going to make it here and nobody is remembering/counting him as a WR. That guy was the 1 WR that flashed. People fawning over Shavers and a bunch of guys that did zero…this kid actually made things happen with the ball in his hands. I think he’s going to sneak in here

So who do we know that has been cut? (26)

OL - Britton, Mike Edwards, Gouraige, Jarvis, Collins

RB - Gore

WR - Hamler, Shorter, Isabella, Shavers, X Johnson, Byrd

QB - DiNucci, Brown

DL - Stevenson, Jonathan, Cline, Deen, Ankou, Bothroyd

LB - D Jones, Simon

CB - Lovely, K Brown

S - Jackson, Williamson,

Season ending IR (2)

S - Delaney, Burgess

Add

KR - Codrington

So it looks like all the draft picks made the team (except the Int Development player).  All 3 UB alums, Ingram, Lewis and Andreessen.  Not sure about Collins and Clapp.

Roster

Offense:

QB (2) - Allen, Trubisky

RB/FB (5) - Cook, Davis, Johnson, Gilliam and Evans (IR?)

WR (5) - Shakir, Samuel, Coleman, Hollins, MVS  (Cain?)

TE (4) - Kincaid, Knox, Morris (IR), Davidson  (McKitty?)

OL (10) - Brown, Torrence, McGovern, D Edwards, Dawkins, SVPG, Van Denmark, Anderson, Grable, & Clapp

Specialists (4) Bass, Martin, Ferguson and Codrington

Defense

DE (5) - Miller, Rousseau, Epenesa, Smoot & Solomon

DT (5) - Oliver, A Johnson, D Jones, Carter, D Williams

LB (7) - Milano (IR), Williams, Benard, Spector, Morrow, Ulofoshio & Andreessen

CB (6) - Benford, Douglas, T Johnson, Elam, Ingram & Hardy (IR)

S (5) - Rapp, Hamlin, Bishop, Mike Edwards & Lewis

That's 58 (or 60 with Cain & McKitty) with at least 3 IR candidates
