I have him in 2 of my 4. He went later than he should because of touchdown production. Only 6 all last year. 3 so far this. He is gonna have similar yardage to last year if he stays healthy but he is gonna score more.

I was actually shocked they gave him a goalline carry. I know Allen is a machine but still think it would be better for him to avoid some of those hits near the goal line.

but yeah if Cool gets like 8 tds (not crazy considering his start), he might be a top 10 scorer in fantasy this year.

In season trades are typically made either by a good team trying to get better or fill a hole and will trade a draft pick for a player and the team trading the player are in a re building mode and are going nowhere in the current season so are looking to pick up additional draft picks.

Based on the 2-0 start, that doesn't seem to apply to the Bills and can't see how trading Cook would in any way make them better for the current season unless they were to get a top level player in return that fills a big hole they have and also fits into their salary cap situation without causing issues for next season either.  Based on how they've played so far, while in theory the injuries left them with big holes, but so far their on field performance doesn't seem to support that.

Now would I trade him in the next off-season, that's a different story assuming Davis looks decent.

This guy, and this show, is just so good.   Great colleague from Baltimore, also.

27th minute on is particularly interesting.    Bills second level injuries, lack of big body linebackers and linebacker depth, and the Lamar / Henry question.

Nickle, Dime … and how many in the box?

One of the dumbest OPs in the almost 30 years I have been on TBL.

He is just kidding, right, trolling?

It reminds of some similar threads with some yahoos hoping to trade Marshawn Lynch, because we had another good (30 year old? 31 year old?) RB at the time.

Made a lot of sense to me at the time--let's get rid of what is clearly our best player, not even at the prime of his career, with maybe ten good years left in him, for a draft pick--as we had a player near the end of his career at the same position?   Yikes.

With moves like the one the OP suggests, the Bills would always be that team we saw for a decade plus after Lynch was traded.

Scary dumb, or just  a joke? No in between here.

Definitely not this year but we do have some big decisions to make in the next year or so.

Rousseau

Benford

Bernard

Cook

Rasul Douglas

Shakir

You can’t keep all of them.  Most likely have to let go of 2 of out of this group and my guess is that Douglas and Cook would be at the top of that list.

Which is why priority #1 for the Bills is to re-sign as many of them as they can and accumulate picks to continue to keep drafting well to replace the ones we can’t keep.   The idea of going after shiny toys in FA (cough cough WR) or via trade is most likely not in their plans.

Thankfully Beane has put us in a position to have lots of money to re-sign many of these guys with lots of premium and overall draft picks.

Relax.. it was just a question posed to pass time prior to the season.. where was this ultra overly dramatic response when the thread was created, I mean pretty convenient to blast away after a great start for Cook.

The question was more about how you build your roster and where you choose to allocate the salary cap, as good as Cook has been, it’s unlikely he’s given a 2nd contract in Buffalo.

Im glad he’s a Bill, he’s been very good, minus the TD drop.

lol, still beating the trade Cook idea.  Just stop.

Of the above list only Douglas is FA after this season and the odds are against him returning with Elam and the development of Ingram.  Beane will worry about the rest later.

Don’t forget that bigger contracts like Milano, Knox and Miller could easily be on the chopping block if he needs money to sign his young studs.

It was not an intelligent question.  People have trying to trade solid Bills players for years.  Chill, enjoy watching the Cook in the Kitchen!

It was more about paying the rb position than about Cook and having just drafted Davis, Chill ? lol ok you may want to read the post I was responding too… no competent GM should ever invest salary cap into the rb position and therefore the question was posed prior to the season.

Enjoy watching the Cook ? Pretty sure I covered that in the post you’re responding too.

Is this what people do know, instead of giving an opinion and answering the question posed in the thread or just ignoring the thread question altogether… they just insult people or try to minimize their intelligence.

Cook is on a rookie contract, and under contract through next year.  I’d be more worried about extending Benford and Rousseau

I 100% agree.. and expect that to happen

Benford is so tough and physical.  He brings nastiness and attitude.  He pops more every game.  Prioritize and sign ASAP.  He is getting national mentions.  I  too expect Beane to make that happen

I didn't watch the whole video but the kid who covers the Ravens is pretty knowledgeable about the Bills for a non-local young man who specializes in covering one team.

It’s a good thing they’re taking their medicine and eating all Diggs cap right now, because Beane has some players who are going to need to be paid.

We are learning who is core going forward.  Josh obviously.  Dion and Spencer got extended.  Ed Oliver.  Bernard will be extended soon too.

I have no idea how I posted this into this thread.    It was supposed to be in the game week thread.   User error.
