I don't know that I'd call him a running back, as much as a versatile weapon that can be used in a variety of ways at a high level.

 

He's not just an above average rb, where you can get that type of production out of late round rookies, especially with a top level oline...Cook is a different type of player arguably, and hopefully could maintain a high level of play through the end of a second contract.

I definitely believe Cook has taken another step this year after a breakout season last year. I’m willing to concede that if Cook continues at this pace and gets into that CMC or prime Kamara range, then I’m much more open to giving him that 2nd contract.

 

 I guess we’ll see how this plays out, I’m hoping Cook puts up 15+ TDs and makes it’s very difficult not to pay him.

 

 That’s my hope.

lol good one, Davis is older than Cook unfortunately… and to be fair Cook today looks very little like Cook as a rookie.

whatever SB window Bills have right now this year cannot afford to rock the boat by getting rid of Cook right now. Davis is a rookie. Johnson is a nice story but has never proven to be a starter. 

 

He is stellar and just scored 3 td!!  th  ...lol seems everyone loves him especially Josh 

 

The hit it would put psychological on the O and team would not be worth it.

 

Even if someone right now offered a 1st rounder, i would say NO. He is not on the trade block at this time. Check in in off season.

You can definitely pay the guys who are weapons, especially if they don’t have an injury history. The CMC’s, Kamara’s, and Aaron Jones types that can line up outside, in the slot, or go in motion in addition to running the ball have expanded value compared to traditional RBs for sure. They can shift coverages and/ pull LBers out of the box to create mismatches on the field.

Draft another RB late next year in what looks like is a strong RB class.

The under pinning of the success of running backs and efficient offensive play is and always has been the O-line.  Nothing works well on offense unless the o-line wins in the trenches, just is.

My hope as well, and just trying to see if there was a type of player you would pay at that position and kinda where that line would be.

 

What about a Barkley type running back? He's more in the Derrick Henry and Adrianne Peterson mold.

I just believe the rb has to be an absolute difference maker in all facets including rushing,pass catching and blitz pickup to pay a sizeable contract… Cook is on a great trajectory so far, hopefully by the end of the year going into the playoffs he’s that guy.

 

 Barkley hasn’t shown that yet imho.
