Don Otreply
21 minutes ago, 4merper4mer said: Might it be because the Bills offensive design emphasizes the run, schemes up the run very well and Is rudderless on designed passes beyond WR screens? After Dorsey left the Bills offense absolutely had some good games, most notably the curb stomping of Dallas. Scoring is the point so that’s good but you can’t be one dimensional. The on script success was all run. The Dallas game was like when the Dolphins beat the Pats with the Wildcat. Unexpected and productive but temporary. “Diggs disappeared” is the required mantra on this board but it is a false narrative unless you include the rest of on script passing game along with Diggs. Pass game production came primarily from Josh improv which is fun, but bad policy. This year it will get worse because 1. Our receivers aren’t great, we lost Our best and 2. Sooner or later the opposition will adapt to our run game. Brady is one of these pumped up geniuses a la Nathaniel Hackett that has already flopped but somehow maintained his credentials. The silver lining could be Brady’s ineptitude may force Josh to be not only a “best buddy” type leader but also a leader who questions authority and demands change. To date, he has not shown that ability but the time is drawing near. One could say that the inverse is not just a bad narrative, but part of the reason, Davis became more and more unreliable, and Diggs wasn’t performing as usual, but Shakir sure made hay, while Diggs was certainly not making the best of his opportunities, (especially in postseason situations and that was pre Brady) maybe Joe Brady doesn’t have as good feel for the passing side of the offense as you seem to want him to have, but I don’t think that has been determined as of this point in time, I guess we shall see as the season proceeds. That and there’s not a hell of a lot either of us can do about that, 😁👍

Hmmm, not out to give Mitch a break--he sucked--but imma call that a drop. Rook needs to learn he is going to get hit whether he stretches out for the ball or not. 1
cale
Per Trubisky: This is bewildering. Is the franchise's plan to basically fold up for the season if our starter goes down? Some folks talking about bringing Tannehill in. Got a front row seat to watching him with the Titans here in Nashville. He is sooo bad. Surely a 3rd year benchwarmer is better than what we have in our QB room.

Right now their room is Watson, Jamies Winston, Tyler Huntley, Dorian Thompson-Robinson. I would kick the tires on any of those. No other team as likely to cut someone that good (meaning better than Mitch).

They are going to have to cut good players there. They are short on players at safety because of injuries and now possibly at wr. not to mention they must be frightened with the way Trubisky played tonight. also what happens to gilliam? I say he's kept. Core ST, no one played more on 4th down

Player issue or OC issue? Maybe no issue. But common response is it’s just preseason. Didn’t realize it was preseason for the Bills and no one else. 15 points in two games puts them with the chargers, Steelers and panthers. Not a great group.

I’m sure the franchise wouldn’t have the plan of folding the season. But it’s undoubtedly what would be best for the team. If Allen goes down you aren’t winning unless your backup QB happens to be Tom Brady. If the Bills can grab a top 10 pick. That could be an unstoppable addition.

May have dropped it with the hit anyways, but let’s show some toughness. Catch the ball, take the hit, hold onto the ball, pop up and look at the DB and say “Nice try” Exactly. He got clobbered anyway. Might as well catch the football and get clobbered. To all who say he didn't cuz it was PS he didn't go for it like he would if RS, how do you know that? This was his chance to prove he could.

Its a terrible throw. I can’t believe you think leading a WR into a safety is a pass right on the money.

You would think even our back ups could score against other teams back ups. Could mean nothing. But it could also mean our depth is not great, preparation, playbook or coaching is not great. Hopefully it’s meaningless.

Hopefully it’s meaningless. it is kind of a unique situation though. Our third string qb was injured in preseason game 1 and a guy was brought in off the street with two days of practice which he didn't get many snaps and was forced to play a half because the 2nd string qb was injured. Sitting other guys on offense has its effect also.
