B-Man Posted January 5 Posted January 5 A Seattle, Washington, small business owner says she has “cried every day” about the closure of her restaurant due to the state’s new minimum wage hike to over $20 per hour. The Democrat-controlled city’s law increasing the minimum wage from $19.97 to $20.76 went into effect on the first day of 2025 “This was my dream. To own my own cafe, to run it how I want to, and to really, like, be in service to people,” she said in an interview, later adding that she has “cried every day” about it. According to Luckenbach, her breakfast eatery was already struggling due to inflation and lower foot traffic, and the new minimum wage requirements would have cost her an additional $32,000 each year. https://www.breitbart.com/economy/2025/01/04/seattle-restaurant-owner-cries-after-minimum-wage-hike-forces-her-close/

B-Man Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Goodbye Pacific Palisades, Hello Full Communism Stephen Green Embattled Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass made her big play this week to rebuild Pacific Palisades in her own image. Needless to say, it won't be pretty. During what the Los Angeles Times called "a freewheeling half-hour walking tour in Pacific Palisades," with reporters and "chief recovery officer" and former LAPD commissioner Steve Soboroff, Bass announced that the city plans to hire "an outside consultant to handle a significant rebuilding contract for areas devastated by this month’s Palisades fire," as the Times put it. “They’re going to represent you and make sure that everybody does exactly what they say they’re going to do,” Soboroff told reporters. Pacific Palisades residents were not so much as consulted on the decision. "Locals have had virtually no input into any of the decisions currently being made by city and state officials," Breitbart's Joel Pollack reported on Tuesday. "Most were only able to access their property for the first time on Monday, after direct intervention by President Donald Trump." Um… is that how representation works? When the mayor and her philanthropist pal Soboroff pick the firm that will make all the decisions? https://pjmedia.com/vodkapundit/2025/01/30/goodbye-pacific-palisades-hello-full-communism-n4936505 1
