I can't help but think that Geno is going to turn back into a pumpkin at some point, and they have sack magnet/turnover machine Sam Howell as his backup. Not a good situation, and Carroll, who was a great coach, covered up a lot of deficiencies. Their defense was a disaster last season. Yeah that's why I would look to Metcalf, and Hopkins for the same reason. Neither team looks to be competitive this year. That 2nd rounder from Minnesota should be a very good trade chip. I would prefer Metcalf because we could extend him and immediately have our #1 WR for the foreseeable future. Quote

The only explanation is that his demands exceeded his worth. What was the price in March, April when the Bills and other teams were constructing their rosters? His demands on term? At this point the Bills do not have near the cap room to have signed that contract. He just wanted to skip training camp. Quote

They’ll say it’s due to being a transient city, which is true .. but everyone loves the Braves somehow. City, State is run by UGA Football. That has always been my impression. Seems like UGA football rules and the Braves get popular when they are winning. But Falcons and Hawks seem irrelevant for decades. When they had the Thrashers, I had a friend who is a Penguins fan who said he would pay like $10 for tickets when the Pens were in town. Pretty shocking, since it like $90+ ticket and total sell-outs for most NHL cities. No offense, but I just have a negative view overall of Atlanta as a meh city (though I have been to some nice parts). Quote

I’m in Buckhead, which is pretty nice. It’s just more of sprawl/suburbia type. But UGA football is king and what they did with the Braves & an area called The Battery, outside of it, has made it an all day event type place. (Restaurants & Bars) Im also in South Carolina a good bit and Greenville & Charleston are absolutely amazing cities. Far better than ATL, imo. Quote
C.Biscuit97 Posted August 17 Posted August 17 Can’t believe he lasted that long. He’s aging but he is a stud. Great deal for the Falcons. Probably already have the best backup qb in the league if Cousins struggles coming back too. Plus, their division sucks. On 8/15/2024 at 5:47 PM, Mr. WEO said: If healthy, Cousins is solid. The HC and OC are bums though. No need to worry... Haha, you used to say this about Andy Reid 3 SBs ago. not saying Morris is close to Reid but he was a very young coach and just spent years working with one of the best and hired a guy from his coaching tree. I’ll bet you something on their over. You in? Quote

His record speaks for why he has been fired twice as a HC. If Cousins is fully healthy, even Morris can coach them to 10 wins in that trash division. Quote

Saying he got fired when he was interim coach replacing a fired coach is absolutely insane. And when you consider the Falcons hired him 4 years after they “fired” him as interim makes that take certifiable. Quote

I even strongly prefer him over Aiyuk, which is why I haven't been all that interested in him even though Aiyuk is universally seen as the better regular season player at this point in their careers. Metcalf's skillset just lines up with what the Bills lack. A weatherproof field stretcher who EXCELS when the refs aren't throwing flags. 4 career playoff games(3 on the road) and he has 451 yards and 5 TD's. He's probably the only playoff-Kelce equivalent at WR. And Metcalf's two highest yardage playoff games top anything Kelce has in his 22 game postseason career. Granted, it's a small sample size.......but we know why Metcalf succeeds in the playoffs so there isn't any reason to think it wouldn't continue to translate. 4 1 Quote

Morris was named interim HC in Tampa in 2009. Despite going 3-13...they kept him as their HC. Next 2 seasons 10-6 and 4-12. Fired. Then he gets the Interim HC job in Atlanta and goes 4-7. Gets fired. Arthur Blank's last 4 HC's in past 5 years: Dan Quinn, Morris 1.0, Arthur Smith, Morris 2.0.....and I'm the "insane" one? Study harder... Quote
