Do you maybe wanna include an interesting excerpt from the story since it’s behind a paywall?

that's pretty much it--a followup to the initial mention in June.  The NFL sent out memo soliciting interest for sites for 2028 and 2029.  Bill submitted.

In early June, when the Bills first publicly expressed their interest in hosting the draft, they targeted only 2028. They have now added 2029.

The Bills’ bid for 2028 or '29 falls in line after the 2026 opening of the new Highmark Stadium. Last month, [Chief Operating Officer Pete] Guelli said the footprint of the new stadium would be the hub to the Bills’ draft-hosting proposal.

“We’re currently setting up meetings with other teams who had successful bids to get an understanding of what the process is and how we can position our bid,” Guelli said.

Would have to be water front stage with party all throughout downtown like Detroit. Doubt they would do it in OP

Id be shocked if it wasn’t in OP with the new stadium.

Of course it would be by the new stadium.

In addition to talking to other franchises, the Bills are in a waiting game.

“We haven’t heard back from the league on timing, but we’ve communicated to the highest levels that we’re very interested in hosting the draft in one of those two years,” Guelli said.

If the league office alerts the Bills that they are in contention for either draft, the Bills will put together a detailed proposal.

“We tried to be more thorough (with the initial interest form) so they would understand how serious we are about this,” Guelli said. “We want to deliberately follow the process and stay in the hunt.”

It's rarely, if ever, "at the stadium". They just wouldn't do it. Needs to be near some event space, hotels etc. That has been the trend in every city since Dallas. They would get it because of the new stadium, but it wouldn't be in OP. It would be downtown.

Likely there would me events at different places like the Olympics does for picked cities.

It usually all central. In KC and Vegas, for example, there was nothing at the stadiums. Same with Detroit, and Ford Field was actually somewhat walkable from the draft stage. Tennessee did have the draft experience around Nissan, but that was just over the bridge from downtown- not a drive out to OP.

Agree with those thinking that this being at the stadium wouldn't make a lot of sense.

It needs to be within walking distance of a lot of other things to do. Doesn't seem like there are a lot of people just sitting in the "theater" watching all the picks on day 2 and day 3. That needs to be the type of thing people can wander in and out of.

A stage somewhere around Canalside seems like the best bet for a successful event.
