That time of year folks, let's hear 'em!

I always do 8 in total 4 league wide and 4 Bills specific and last year I landed 3 and was pretty close on 3 others. One of my better years. So here goes for 2024:

Four non-Bills:

- The Green Bay Packers to be the #1 seed in the NFC but not reach the Superbowl;

- The Philadelphia Eagles to miss the playoffs and Nick Sirianni to be fired before the end of the season;

- Justin Fields to be the Steelers' starter by Halloween and to play well enough to earn an extension after the season;

- Marvin Harrison Junior to break Puka Nacua's rookie receiving record.

Four Bills specific:

- AJ Epenesa to produce double digit sacks for the first time and lead the team in that category;

- Keon Coleman to have fewer targets and fewer yards than both Khalil Shakir and Curtis Samuel but to put up more touchdowns;

- The Bills to trade away a day two pick in the 2025 NFL Draft for a wide receiver prior to the trade deadline;

- Kaiir Elam to displace Rasul Douglas as a starting corner by the end of the season.

Add your own and we will check back in due course.

I'm not sure the Coleman one is really that bold. I'd think most ppl would assume he won't get nearly as much targets as them. Kincaid and Shakir will see the most targets, followed by Samuel most likely. Now, if you hit on that Fields one, that's insanely impressive.

But fewer targets and more touchdowns. Wouldn't be totally unique but for a guy who is a team's 3rd wide receiver by targets and yards to have the most WR touchdowns..... that is pretty rare. Does not happen often.

Not what I want to happen but here goes:

Bengals lose to Lions in Super Bowl

Bills lose to Bengals in AFCCG in Cincinnati

Cook does not drop any easy catches for TDs

Von plays in less than 12 games this year

Non Bills

1. Lions represent the NFC in the Super Bowl.

2. Cowboys make the playoffs but lose in the WC round. McCarthy fired setting the stage for Bill as the next HC of Dallas.

3. Giants go 3-14 Daboll fired.

4. Jets miss playoffs at 9-8. Johnson cleans house as JD and Saleh fired.

Bills

1. Go 11-6 make playoffs as a WC. Dolphins win division at 11-6 but win the tiebreakers over Bills.

2. Shakir emerges as a true #1 for the Bills. Allen and Shakir is one of the league's best QB/WR combos.

3. Bass struggles and gets cut midway thru the season

4. Kincaid emerges as one of the better TE's in the game improving on his rookie season

Bold Predictions:

NFL Related:

  • Bears go 10-7 but miss the playoffs as all of the wildcards are 11-6 (GB/LAR/DAL)
  • ATL is the 2 seed but lose a heartbreaker on a last second FG to PHI as Kirk continues to be tortured in big moments
  • Speaking of Kirk Cousins wins MVP
  • DAL beats DET in NFC title game to go to SB
  • Giants go 6-11 and fire Schoen/Daboll as Belichick takes over everything (this is what happens when you tie your horses to Daniel Jones)
  • Jayden Daniels wins ROTY even though WSH goes 7-10
  • Titans end up with 1st overall pick going 2-15 as the 2020 All Madden team shows its age and Levis is too much a loose cannon
  • Rams win the division at 12-5 and 49ers end up 11-6 WC bowing out in 1st round
  • KC are the 2 seed but lose at home in the divisional round to Buffalo

Bills Related:

  • Curtis Samuel finishes with 1400 yards total (rush/rec)
  • Shakir leads the team with 94 receptions and 1173 yards
  • Von finishes with 8 sacks including 2 week 1 as he reverts to partial old self and is no longer a liability
  • Bills win division week 17 at home over Jets in a 31-17 victory, Jets do beat Ravens on road though in playoffs
  • Bills finish 3 seed beating CIN in WC, finally beat KC in KC, and win SB against DAL after beating HOU in AFC title

These are supposed to be bold, so I'll go really bold:

Non-Bills:

  1. This year's worst to first team? The Arizona Cardinals.
  2. Bryce Young has a good year and the Panthers win the NFC South.
  3. Diggs has his best-ever statistical season, causing a weekly thread on TBD bemoaning the trade.
  4. The Jets win the AFC East and the #1 seed but lose in the Divisional Round.

Bills (I'm in a bad mood today, so here goes)

  1. Bills go 9-8 and miss the playoffs. That's the record they should have had last year if not for a few lucky bounces and other teams rolling over (KC, Chargers, Fins) and the roster is much worse so maybe 9-8 is optimistic.
  2. Beane and McDermott are both fired.
  3. Kincaid has a nice year, but it's overshadowed by the dominance of LaPorta (who they could have had)
  4. Bills don't have a single player with over 700 receiving yards.

The skill position players that the Bills have provided their franchise QB this year is criminal.

NFL

- Texans take a step back.  They will be a 6 or 7 seed.

- Eagles do not make the playoffs

- The Steelers finish with a losing record for the first time in Tomlin's career.

I have this happening too but mostly because their schedule is complete BS late with how it is set and lack of rest. I actually think the Browns finish 4th, they won way too many one score games last year with QB play that lucked out of situations it shouldn't. I think despite the depth of roster regression hits for real.

League

- Aaron Rodgers doesn't make it past week 6

- Detroit Lions start the season 8-0

- Sedrick Van Pran-Granger earns a starting spot at center by end of season.

- Micah Hyde is Bills starting safety by mid season.

- Josh Allen passes for under 4000 yards this season.

- Bills take the last wild card spot in playoffs this season and lose to the Chiefs...again.

Only chance Browns win division is if they bench Watson after game 3.  Otherwise they will finish last in the division.
