It had to happen. He doesn’t look ready for the NHL. I don’t understand why they’ve seemed so intent on forcing him into the NHL so quickly, especially after UPL established himself as the starter and they signed him to that new 5yr deal.

They have a young starter who’s just emerging and is signed for half a decade. Like, wtf is the rush on Levi? I don't get it. 

 

All I can think is that they promised him a fast track to the NHL to get him to sign here out of college. Otherwise I don’t understand why they’d handle him they way they have.

 

Hopefully UPL is back to full health soon and Reimer can be a competent backup. He didn’t look good in Anaheim but he’s an experienced veteran. All we need is him to be an average backup that can play an occasional game.

 

Unless he’s needed due to injury, I want Levi in Rochester for at least the rest of the season. Hopefully Kevyn Adams doesn’t keep repeating this same mistake.

UPL came up big when we needed him, but the endless penalty kills for Buffalo came up big. And the final 2 minutes, LA only had a couple of good chances. The Sabres kept LA on the perimeter not giving them solid scoring chances.

Is there anything scarier than watching the Sabres defend a 1 goal lead with 2 minutes left in the game?  Its a minor miracle that game didn't go to OT with how panicked they looked.

 

The Sabres have yet another chance to get above 0.500 against a hapless Ducks team. This should be a reason for optimism, but experience tells me we should be terrified of what may unfold tonight.

As Marty said , getting above .500 , NHL .500 on the post game show . It's still .500 as far as wins and losses. 2 for 2 on the west coast!

I get the points potential per games played and pure wins and losses. I just never heard anyone say, Marty Biron did on the post game,  .500 and NHL .500. Still cracks me up!

Ducks are actually pretty equal to the Sabres: 8-8-3

This team is clearly different when UPL is in goal, not sure what to expect tonight against the sharks. They are a crappy (by record) team we should beat, but no UPL for us

UPL played lights out for us last night.  He has stolen 2 wins for this team on this west coast road trip.

A California sweep is a good thing—gritty performance for the 3rd game in 4 nights, and the back half of a back-to-back.

11-9-1 is 3rd place in their division and a playoff spot!!

If Levi was in net we lose by a ton.  Really impressed with how they kept fighting in the third, in years past this team would have mailed it in

Reimer had an outstanding game.  So many big saves which kept us in the game and gave the Sabres a chance to fight their way out of the deficit.  Way too many penalties taken once again but the PK was clutch. Just win.
