They won the presidents trophy last season and still have basically the same core group. They shouldn't have missed the playoffs when you look at the talent on the roster as they definitely underachieved this season Ya they had the best record last year. If The Sabres followed this logic we would have 14 new coaches in a row 1 Quote

They should have been in the top 3 in the Metro and clinched easily. But that is why they play the games as you never know what is going to happen. 1 Quote

QCity Posted Sunday at 02:22 AM Posted Sunday at 02:22 AM Yeah that press conference was a joke. Adams looked completely defeated. Quote

I would say dream. The Peca rumors on social media seem like it's a nostalgia/Hey-I-Know-That-Guy thing. They already said Lindy is coming back as coach - that had to come from TP. Adams has a year left on his contract so they'll probably just demote him to Liaison to the Owner or some BS title. My guess would be: GM: Karmanos or Ventura (promote from within) Coach: Ruff Asst Coach: maybe a change but Appert will stay (Golden Boy) Adams: some title that sounds impressive with no teeth my best guess 1 Quote

May Day 10 Posted Sunday at 05:32 PM Posted Sunday at 05:32 PM I dont get why they would need to keep adams if he is under contract. The money is spent regardless. Best off ridding themselves of him. Pegula won't because he admires him so much for some reason nobody else can figure out. He needs to be gone, and it's more than a year overdue. Worst gm and front office in the nhl and we all shouldn't be suffering his opportunity to learn in the job. Someone from the outside needs to be hired to fix this. No bias or ties to any of these people/cockroaches who occupy the sabres' staff. And no, lindy Ruff should not be GM. I dont even think he should be HC. Quote

What's the worst that could happen? They miss the playoffs? Hell, think of the money they'd make off the built in documentary series and resulting movie about a fan becoming GM. If I turn out to be good at it? Can you imagine? It'd be HUUGE. Quote
That's No Moon Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago The end of that Oilers/Kings game was wild. I miss having that strong of an emotional response to a hockey game. It's been a while and it's what makes it fun. Watching the Sabres is and has been drudgery. 1 Quote
Jauronimo Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Avs v Stars has been a high quality watch. The ending of that Oilers game was nuts. I thought McJesus was going to finish the job in OT. I cannot believe Ovi just got his first playoff OT goal. https://records.nhl.com/records/playoff-skater-records/overtime/most-overtime-goals-career-playoff Quote

They are a big underdog here and to come back from 2-0 in the 3rd period to force overtime was impressive. They almost stole game 1. I do think they will lose the series, and it will be the Caps vs Canes in Rd 2. But they made it interesting. As for the Avs vs Stars that is one heck of a series to watch between two very good teams. Also looking forward to game 1 of the Lightning vs Panthers tonight. That should be another good series to watch. 1 Quote
