It's in Washington.  March 30th

I'm not even sure if that would stand out as being that big of a disgrace as a Sabres fan, might actually be cool to see your team involved in a historical moment like that.  Didn't Gretzky break the all-time single season goal record against the Sabres?

He's going to break the record against someone.  I don't really care which opponent it happens against.  If he breaks Gretzky's record in a 7-1 loss why would that bother us?  If he breaks the record by scoring 14 goals against us that evening, I could see that bothering me. Seems unlikely.

I don't remember who Gretsky broke the record against. I would have to look it up.

I looked it up.  It was the Canucks.

Against Buffalo at the Aud. I think Don Edwards was the goalie who let the goal in.

Edit. It was against Buffalo that Gretzky broke Phil Esposito's single season record. It was indeed the Canucks that he broke Gordie Howe's record of all time career goals.

Wow. Heck of a comeback.

The thing is this started before the all star break, I think that 6 out of last 7 games as wins

This was quite a late all star break going by past years, when it has traditionally been in late January - very early Feb.

Sabres have 26 games left of an 82-game season.

Yup, pry would have to go 20-6  77% to get to 93 pts and even sniff the playoffs.

They were excellent for most of the 18 games before the winless streak and most of the 22 games after it. They are 24-14-2 in those two stretches. Just those damn 13 in the middle of em.

Everybody knew this was going to happen after the 13 game losing streak

I still can’t believe they lost 13 in a row.  Unheard of.  If they just go 6-7 in those games they’re right in the hunt.

The team is cursed.  But they’re fun to watch right now; they were buzzing all game and just overwhelmed the Ducks.

I was invited to go watch them play the Canes Thursday night.  I’ll go, expecting the worst, but maybe they’ll put on a good show.

Did anyone watch Steve Tasker wipe some food off his seat last night and eat it?

What a ***** animal. LOL

Sadly it was the highlight of the night. It might have been his pants, but it didnt look good.

The Sabres somehow look farther away from competing this year than they did two years ago despite some decent adds in Zucker and McLeod and the emergence of Kulich as a player.  We simply do not get enough from Quinn, Cozens, and Benson.  Not enough production and defensive liabilities.

I’d be leery of sitting on those old seats, let alone eat off of them. They’re filled with over a decade of tears, dropped condiments, and beer farts.

they are also worse than they were last year. 2 straight years of regression. But don’t worry, Kevyn Adams says the answer is in the room… lol.

A “win now” year and literally the only move he’s made is claiming Reimer back off waivers. He's just sat on his hands and watched this “team” he built completely collapse, to the point where the culture seems to be turning toxic again from all the losing.

He did the same thing last year - sat on his hands all year while his team struggled. Then threw Granato under the bus at year’s end (the same guy Adams said a month prior was a huge part of the Sabres future) without ever even trying a shake up trade or anything substantial to help the roster/Granato.

Granato said he was promised there would be improvements made to the team for last year but it never happened.

I won’t be at all surprised to see some Buffalo players request a trade this offseason, or at the very least refuse to sign long term (like Tuch). Especially if Adams isn’t fired. I can’t imagine the players have much confidence in him.

This is the roster he iced 5 years into the job. I’d argue it’s worse than the roster he took over back in 2020.

sorry, I know I am overly negative on the Sabres. I just can’t help it anymore. I wish I could get myself to walk away completely.

I think looking at Adams as anything more than a powerless yes man is a mistake. I doubt very much that he has a ton of real authority. The owner seems committed to doing nothing.
