Terry seems content whooping it up with his new co owner Vince Carter. Seems the Sabres are just the dusty toy in the closet.

But keep in mind, rod hockey > foosball. 😁

I posted after the 3 game West Coast road trip sweep that I was taking my Sabres gear out of mothballs...Sabres haven't won since.  Today I am burning my Sabres gear...if the team goes on a winning streak I know I am the jinx.  Go Sabres!

The team won't go on a run

They are the way they are because it starts at the top.  Ownership is toxic and this is the 3rd 10+ losing streak under adams, and it seems his job is secure.  This is who they are.  Bottom 3rd of the nhl and ruining young players.

It doesn't matter who they draft, who the coach is, or even who the gm is, as long as the top priority is communication.

Well it's the truth, and it certainly doesn't make anyone happy.

So that's 12 straight losses.

Still 6 away from the NHL record.

I mean,  they ALREADY hold that particularly dubious record with 18 straight in 2020-2021......so it would be a bit of a hat on a hat, I suppose........but what say you all about @Mike in Horseheads idea that the one constant isn't to blame for 14 years of losing?

Any other franchise would’ve fired the coach by now. It’s like benching the goalie when you’re down 4-0 in the first. It may not be entirely the goalies fault, but you pull him anyway in the hopes of changing momentum.  That’s what the Sabres need to do with coach.

Any other franchise would not have fired and hired 8 coaches in the last 10 years. It's not the coach.

Bless those of you still watching, made it 15 minutes in before I switched to NCAAF.

Absolutely no one on this team with any heart.

All the people who matter have already gotten paid.  They are playing their way out of town and it's obvious. Terry holds a meeting and says not to expect any major trades. He thinks that will make them more comfortable and settle down. In reality it kicks about half of them in the nuts because they were hoping to be gone so they packed it in even further and got whipped 6-1 by the only team worse than them, then backed that performance up with another 6-3 drubbing.  They've given up SIXTY goals in their last 11 games. If that isn't quitting I don't know what is.  You go into a scoring drought and lose a couple tough ones? 2-1, 1-0, fine that happens.  To get drubbed and give up that many goals over that many games is ridiculous. There is absolutely no excuse for a team to defend that poorly for that long a period of time.  Then the big man comes in with what he thinks is support for you and you give up 12 in two nights? GTFO with that.

They had two goals taken away in this game. How would you feel if you were trying to break a losing streak and you keep getting these setbacks. Don't forget the first goal in the MTL game was scored when a referee accidentally kicked the puck to a Canadiens player.

I think the players are playing with plenty of heart. I see no lack of effort. Just an endless string of bad breaks.

Is this really true or are you putting on the homer glasses? I haven't seen them so I have no idea.

I'm really annoyed that yesterday I was doing my Christmas shopping, bought my daughter's fiancé a Penguin's hat but couldn't bring myself to buy my daughter a matching Sabres' hat. :censored:

Are you actually watching the games or just reacting to the box scores? I watch every minute of every game. This team has not quit (yet.) They had TWO goals taken away from them last night. They give up goals thanks to crazy bounces. Have you ever been in a situation where the harder you tried the worse things got? That's the Sabres right now.

Neither. I literally just told you I haven't seen them so I have no idea.

The roster construction is flawed, and the GM and owner are clueless. The Sabres don't have enough good veterans. There is talent, but a lot of it needs time, and it needs competent veteran leadership to properly develop. As it is, they are trapped in a cycle where the talent is degraded by structural flaws. Players get dejected, want out, and go on to win Cups elsewhere (ROR, Eichel, Reinhart). To make it all worse, though NHL officiating is so bad it maybe makes the NFL look alright, the Sabres routinely get really bad calls, or don't get the calls, however you want to look at it. The zebras have an irrational contempt for Benson, for example.

Life's too short to court misery. Pegula needs to hire solid NHL people and get out of the way, but he's too stubborn and foolish. I don't see it happening. The team is the laughingstock of the league, building on historical levels of ineptitude, and TP flies over to Montreal to give the fellas a vote of confidence and to make clear no trades are coming. You're looking at yet another rebuild. LOL dim.

This is exactly what it seems like from my current outside perspective.

I have to wonder if they made a significant effort to add those necessary vets in the offseason and couldn't get anybody on board, hence Adams' palm tree (Hey, I tried) comment.

I hope they don't tear it down prematurely; there has got to be some way to get the handful of vets they need to come on board.

I sort of liken it to the Amari Cooper situation. The addition of a vet or two in the Top 6 (or Top 4 D) would go a long ways to slotting the rest of the group "down" where they actually belong.
