I can probably quote this verbatim from people saying the same thing about Claypool as recently as last week

You’re trying too hard.

Claypool has all kinds of flags. Davis is certainly worth a shot, IMO.

I'm sorry, I misread this as Davis is shot, because he is

So, tell me how it hurts. They are trying things. Would you rather they not?

And it would be no less true now than it was then. Facts are facts.

It hurts because this year's upcoming disaster was preventable.  It's annoying and I'm frustrated.

I mean, is he any good? Or are we stroking ourselves…,

Our wr corp isn’t good.  We didn’t bring in any talent other than Samuel.  We didn’t get a #1.

I personally believe it’ll be a stretch making playoffs this year.

This is a replacement for Claypool. Taking a flier on a high-upaside veteran to round out the room and provide depth.

Will this mean our WR room quietly got better again?

Outstanding, dude. Bravo.

No, how does this move hurt? Simple question.

My employers used to have posters up in the break room for stuff like this.

Was Corey Davis a better Football player than Corey Feldman was an actor?

What about Corey Feldman the rock and roll star?

The move in itself does not hurt. The overarching plan of "throwing crap against the wall and hoping it will stick" is dubious, even more so when you have Allen at QB.

Just when I thought that we couldn't sink any lower than pinning our hopes to Chase Claypool, Brandon Beane goes out and does a thing like this and..... TOTALLY REDEEMS HIMSELF!!! Homerun of a signing!!!!

And I actually thought that I couldn't love this group anymore than I did yesterday.  But here we are.  Quieter. Deeper.  Harder.

Don't forget younger, faster and bigger

What would you prefer? A Big Trade ISN'T happening. So the list of perimeter WR's of note available at this point are Corey Davis, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Michael Thomas, Randall Cobb, Marquise Goodwin, or Martavis Bryant. Given the age and injury history with some on the list, you could argue Davis *is* the best FA option.

If he signs and it doesn't work, they don't make the roster and we stick with what we have. I don't understand outrage over the possibility of adding options. If you're upset that we didn't do more before this, that's fair, but that ship has sailed. It shouldn't mean we don't try what we can do now.

I am in no way upset or outraged.

Playing with this group of receivers in Madden is certainly challenging.

But I think they'll be better than many think. It is a position we still need to invest in, but they'll still be decent. Josh Allen will elevate them.

Id be more than happy to have him on the roster.    That said, if they tried him out he likely was in a group of tryouts that included Byrd and Cain.   He was a good widout in the league despite playing with bad quarterbacks.   To be fair to the guy played through injuries and his brother passing away, the same brother who was here in 2015.     He is still only 27 or 28 years old and would be cool to see if he still go a bit during the rest of the pre-season.

I'm fine with them trying, just not that thrilled with Corey Davis. How about Hunter Renfrow? He's still unemployed.
