So, let's talk about Warren Sharp's latest tweet, it's a good one

We don't win man situations and we aren't a physical offense. What level of physicality we do have is a result of threatening in the air which is a smaller threat in goal to go. We also didn't have any larger possession WR's like Coleman for many of those time frames. No, I don't consider Gabe "larger possession".

The tweet is talking about pass plays only... It wouldn't include any Allen runs or even scrambles.

No surprise at all that we rank low in that hyper specific scenario with I would assume a very low sample size. We don't have Andy Reid drawing up easy button shovel passes and we didn't have any contested catch specialists last year.

FWIW we ranked 4th in red zone TD% last year at 63.89% (KC ranked 19th at 51.25%). Boiling that down to just within 3 yards of the goalline and just on pass plays is going to create some funky results.

Yes which is why I think this is a meaningless stats.  How many pass attempts did we have inside the 3?  Maybe 15-20?  Most of the times you run.

So it's probably one of those two or three more catches in those 15-20 probably elevates us to top 15....

Too early to look at this since college football hasn't started yet but I hope the 2025 draft is a strong one for OL. We need to improve at the LOS on both sides of the ball.

If Mahomes was on the Bills, McDermott would have focused the last couple of years on getting him to stop throwing side arm.

If Allen was on the Chiefs Reid would have scored the exact same number TDs from inside the 10.  The common denominator is Reid is far better than McDermott.  Anyone with an average or higher IQ and who is not legally blind and has watched the games knows this is true.

Spagnuolo is also a very good DC. The Chiefs D has played well enough in the playoffs for them to get those championships.

I would also guess to have WR who can take on the more aggressive/physical style corners play in the playoffs.

I can't think of other reasons why Diggs consistently was not productive in the playoffs.

Agree, but I would add that the O-line bears some responsibility in this as well, Diggs not being a big WR, was more easily delayed throughout his routes in the post season, his stutterer step and release wasn’t fooling the DBs, and Gabe not being a reliable didn’t help,

There is a reason Mahomes is a 99 while Josh is a 92 in Madden.  It ain't all on Mahomes.  😈

Discuss.  😝

So, three different OCs, the same ***** results within three yards of the goal line. What's the common denominator, everyone?

You make the call.

Breece Hall isn’t in the backfield on any of those plays.

I'm wondering if this isn't coaching coupled with the desire to run it with Josh. I'm sure I am wrong here, but I'm not total convinced that our coaching staff know exactly what they want to do in specific situations.
for example. Does Josh just want to run it in?  Did Diggs pressure for the ball? Did coaching want to hand it off to a RB? Quick get to the line and don't let the clock run down. Hike!

So you're saying that a 2 yard TD pass is better then a 15 yard one?

Diggs was constantly being hit by DBs; reminds me of Superbowl game vs Giants.

Diggs was pulled (or pulled himself) a lot with other WRs put in - it is why Gabe Davis was cited in a game when he did not receive a catch.  They did same thing with Jake Kumerow, when he was healthy and on Bills.

It's offensive line. We were better last year but still not a blow you off the line group and that is what you need there in short yardage.

We also don't have a super efficient quick passing game anywhere on the field and that shows up down there.

This is what so many people miss about what they are doing.  Diggs was a failure in the post season his entire time here where his stats are no where near his regular season.

THANK GOD we won't have to watch another OC call a fade from the 3 yard line to a short Diggs that never works.
