The Buffalo Bills have placed wide receiver Chase Claypool on injured reserve, the team announced on Tuesday. He had been dealing with a toe injury he originally sustained on July 28.

Looks lie Bills determined he will not be healthy enough to be on roster or at least enough to be seen in preseason games.

A shame since he reportedly had a good attitude.

I thought he was eligible to return from IR but it counts against the 8 players that can return during the season

They don’t want him to return.

But mainly because he’s terrible.

Yeah. Wish he'd had a chance with his health. Didn't look like he was going to make the roster in any case, but who know. Injuries are always a shame.

He was probably our best bet to have any WR that could "potentially " beat man press, which is saying a lot

Yup. I'm predicting man press coverage every play and zero WR completions all year long.

Is the reason you season IR him to do some sort of injury settlement, as opposed to straight cutting him?

Can't cut him if he's injured. So yeah, likely will be gone with a settlement.

An injury settlement would allow the Bills or another team to sign him when he’s healthy.
