Tyreek is super fast, I'd bet he'd be right there at 40 meters...but i doubt 100 meters.  I would take the guy who trains day in and day out for 100 meters and has proven to beat the worlds fastest opponents.

Tyrone Wheatley tried this. He was attempting to compete in the 110HH many years ago. He got smoked in Olympic Trials, IIRC. But I definitely remember him in an interview after, explaining that the time and training to be an Olympic level athlete far exceeded what he was used to, and had time for, comparing it to football.

point is, these Olympic athletes are training harder than football players imo. At least the dominant sprinters are. Hill is fast, and as you said, you have no doubt he would stick with some of these guys up until 40m, but then he’ll be walked all the way to the finish line.

id go another way, and say he might not even be close at 40m. And that’s because the amount of time these sprinters spend on block starts is also crazy. I have no doubt Hill would be by far the last one out of the blocks in a sprint finals with 7 other sprinters.

man, I really hope Lyles cocky, confidence urges him to challenge Hill. I’d love to see Hill get smoked.

It's not only how hard Olympic-caliber sprinters work but also how specialized their training is.

Hill meanwhile devotes his energies to other things:

Lyles would never take the race-if he wins, well he’s supposed to so no big deal, but if he somehow loses….not good for business

I think the only way it happens is if it's a big charitable eevent.

Probably.

They don't even need to 'race', just have Hill go to a track, start out of the blocks, record the time compared to Lyles, and there you go. But where would the fun be in that?

Well he provides a lot of "content."

"Tyreek Hill wants to be porn star after NFL career"

"Tyreek  Hill fires the f**king bonehead who filed divorce docs"

"Tyreek Hill says he's still married despite divorce filing"

"Tyreek Hill involved in clash at comedy gig, escalates after departure"

"Tyreek Hill sued, model claims he broke her leg in fit of rage during football drill"

"Tyreek Hill says model broke leg tripping over dog, not enraged drill"

"Video shows Tyreek Hill swatting at man during boat altercation"

"Tyreek Hill house fire causes $2.3 million in damages"

That is not 'trolling us all', that is just how social media works.

No one is 'taking it hook line and sinker' from just him. Once you use social media with following athletes and celebrities, that is what is involved in it.  Its entertainment, but of course it is worth talking about because....that is what fans do.

I agree with Lyles' assessment about the term "World Champions."

If you win the Super Bowl, you are Super Bowl Champions or NFL Champions.  If you win the World Series, you are World Series Champions.  If you win the Stanley Cup, you are Stanley Cup Champions.  If you win the NBA finals, you are NBA Champions.

Don't understand where the whole "World Champions" thing comes in...the only time you can claim to be a World Champion is when the individuals or teams play in a "world" tournament, i.e. Olympics or World Cup.

Fastest 40 I’ve heard of (laser timed) was a 4.12 by Christian Coleman. It’s on YouTube. Bolt ran a 4.22 without warming up and in sweatpants. I heard the difference between 0.2 seconds is equivalent to 2 yards, so yes, Hill would be close to Olympic sprinters with his 4.28 time (as DK Metcalf was when he raced), but he’d have ZERO chance of hanging with any of them over 60M or 100M. He’d finish dead last, like Metcalf. As our own Marquise Goodwin used to tell us, “I’m fast, but Olympic level speed is a different beast.”
