Anyways there's too much analysis over a single rep. That's Jaylon Johnson, one of the elite CBs. There is no shame at all in Coleman not getting yards of separation in the tightest area of the field against an elite CB in his first ever live action. Clown Football is an appropriate name for that account.

I wasn't making a case for separation personally just used that clip to show that his jersey was pulled from behind.

 

That isn't johnson the all pro that is jaylon jones just a depth chart corner.

But he was over the back of Keon holding him down when the ball was still 2 to 3 yards from even reaching Keon...to me that should always be called.  And Keon had the route and position, so that is a potential TD without the interference.  To be fair, it wasn't a great pass either, so a better pass would have helped.

I’m not sure what you want from me. Coleman didn’t change my opinion of him as a player today. It was also his first live action NFL game of his career so he’s got plenty of time left. I don’t know what “spin” you’re referring to, but I honestly don’t care lol.

Answer is simple...be objective for once rather than ram your snarky views on Keon into every comment.  You don't need to keep referring to him as a "contested catch WR", you don't have to post a snarky response to another poster that the most important people being the refs didn't call the PI as if that means anything in terms of whether or not he was held.  And you know he was, its on video, which is why you defaulted to a snarky deflection comment again so you can keep selling your negative crusade on that play.  

 

You just come across as being more invested in being "right" about Keon by unnecessarily throwing shade all the time than you do him and the Bills succeeding.  No one expects yours or anyones opinions to change on a measly preseason game...but you don't have to ram your negative views of Keon into every comment.  

 

Kid has had a great camp, made a great play on his first target, and yet you consistently try and focus on what ever you can nit pick negatively instead.

McDermott tried to hide it a bit, but you could tell at his presser after the game he was seething mad inside and disappointed in the group as a whole today.  They did not represent the uniform proudly.

You expected my opinion to change on Keon because he now plays in a Bills uni. That’s not how it works with objectivity. I didn’t like him predraft, you can go look it up. 
 

I gave him an incomplete grade because I didn’t see much from him today. He had ONE positive play in the game. It was his first game and he’s competing for potentially being WR1.  Like wtf are you even talking about with this “had a great camp.” It’s irrelevant to the topic.

Same impression I had before.  Not enough talent, not enough depth.  The D was missing Milano, Miller, Oliver so the starters will get better when everyone plays.  No O line openings for runners -- not sure we're actually better with this configuration, or if we'd be better with the rookie with too many names at center and move the center back to LG.  Traditional Bills preseason penalty fest.  The team fell apart when second or third string players were on the field -- and that's what we'll be seeing if a couple of starters get hurt.  

 

It was the first preseason game for the Bills against the Bears second game, so the poor results don't have me terribly concerned.  I was hoping for reasons for optimism but I guess we'll just put it all on hold until the regular season.

I only watched the first half due to the time zone I’m in. I only have two thoughts:

 

Caleb Williams looks like an absolute stud. It’s possible he lights up the league from day one.

 

I’m concerned about our special teams unit as a whole. Is Smiley the right guy for the role? Last year this unit ranked 27th. Does anyone have faith it will get better this year? Why is Bass kicking through the end zone? Doesn’t he want to give the guys a chance to cover kicks?

 

This is a superbowl contending team. There is no excuse for not having:

 

an ace kicker,

an ace punter,

and an ace coordinator. 
 

Please someone talk me down from my doom casting this special teams unit…

Well, we were the only team to truly get blown out, soooo....

 

Not that it matters. I do wonder if that means we're lacking depth, especially on defense, or if our new DC was just trying new things.

 

There were a few other teams that lost by a double digits, but we're the only ones that lost by nearly 30 points 😅

For me winning and losing means nothing in the preseason.

 

It’s more how it looks.

 

Is it a well oiled machine? Is it firing on all cylinders?
 

Or does it look like a discombobulated mess?

 

For me, I take no stock in preseason game one. If we had won 50-0 it wouldn’t boost my confidence that they are superbowl favorites.

 

My only concern is with how the Teams unit looks. Smiley seems like a weak link in this operation.

He was tentative.  Needs to learn the blocking schemes and trust the play calls.

That’s a terrible take.  Morse was a very good center for his 5 years w the Bills.  Was he all pro at the Dermonti Dawson level?  No.  But he was the best center the Bills have had since Kent Hull.  He was tough rugged, a leader and could move.  
 

The interior O line today was garbage.  They had better get a whole lot better in a hurry.  The second half was an embarrassment today.  The bottom 25-30 guys  on the roster absolutely stink.  I would cut them all tomorrow and bring in some other guys.  
 

Our backup QB’s are the worst in the NFL.  Sure the game doesn’t matter.  But when you put on the Bills jersey, you had better play with a whole lot more passion then what we saw today.  Why is Shane Buechele in camp?  The guy is afraid to throw the ball.  
 

The best and only play by any back end of the roster player was the hit by Williamson on the sidelines. Sure it was late.  But that was old school football.  Lighting someone up!!  Used to see that every week 15-20 years ago. Bam. Loved it. Ronnie Lott and Brian Dawkins made the HOF on hits worse than that.

KC was awful.  They were as bad as we were and so was cleveland.  

 

this are just practices in uniforms.

We should have just kept Kyle Allen.

Kyle Allen also made a couple off target throws yesterday. Missed a TD pass and was yanked shortly thereafter.

I don't think he is holding him at that point. He is just right on top of him which he is entitled to be. The tug of the jersey is one you might get some of the time. After that it is just good physical coverage in the endzone.

Trubisky is better than Kyle Allen. Kyle Allen truly sucks.
