The original, Cerebus, guarded the gates of Hell. This nickname would work better for a defensive player, but if you dig deeper into the Blues and what their singers were talking about regarding hellhounds you'd realize how inappropriate using this as a nickname is. Language history is a B!tch...in this case literally. Actually not hell, he guarded the underworld in Greek mythology...much different than the Christian Hell. And again the name is inspired by the literary character of the same name from Dresden Files. 1 Quote

Sounds like a great idea for a nickname. Good point, though they are great books and I highly recommend them. There is a side character name Kincaid (introduced in the 4th or 5th book) who worked for the forces of evil... then turned into a mercenary and was hired to protect a little girl becoming a "good" guy and striking fear into the forces of evil. 1 Quote

RobbRiddick Posted August 8 Posted August 8 We already came up with a nickname last year, Full Blown KincAIDS ... 1 Quote

Dalton Kincaid is The Hellhound, he started last year and I truly think he's going to earn that name this year. If you've read The Desden files you understand the source. But this team prides is self on having dogs and that dog mentality. Well no dog is as feared as the Hellhoud. The name is Dalton. Road House. He does not need a nickname. 1 Quote
LeGOATski Posted August 8 Posted August 8 If I'm picking "Hellhound" for anyone, it's probably Milano 1 1 Quote
DrPJax Posted August 8 Posted August 8 How about something simple and relevant: Super Bowl MVP ? ✌️ 1 Quote
ROCBillsBeliever Posted August 8 Posted August 8 @NakedSquid I have to agree with the general sentiment that nicknames are given by teammates / coaches, and we can't really toss them out there in the internet and hope they stick like strands of spaghetti; however, I WILL say that a Hellhound is one scary MFer! Keeping it from getting too greasy is the challenge and the key to a great Reuben. Too much sauerkraut or Thousand Island dressing on the inside and you have a slippery mess on your hands, literally. Next question. 1 Quote
Sharky7337 Posted August 8 Posted August 8 I can't believe I got baited into reading this, but I will never be the same, I assure you. Quote
