Shes been gifted the easiest road to the presidency in modern history (not even counting her idiot opponent)

What do you think happens in a primary?  Do you think she’s be the nominee if Dems held one?

Last time she participated Tulsi Gabbard murdered live on tv and her campaign fell off a cliff because she could never consolidate on a platform.  She was too wish washy, and then washed out.

Now, with no primary, only a few months with a honeymoon phase, followed by the DNC, she might not even need to elaborate on policy.   It’s been 17 days now and still zero questions from the media.

None of this would be acceptable for a typical nominee.  They’d have gone through the rigors of a primary and the public would have seen the oppo research dump, plus learned of their main policy stances - as well as where they stand, generally, on other topics.

We have none of that.  And it’s by design.

Her campaign is empty.  Just like her platform.  Just like her astroturfed influencers.

Thats a pretty solid list of examples of public vetting you're compiling.

No, I don't think she would have fared much better in this primary than she did previously.  I was highly surprised when she was named the pick.  Seemed like a panic move to me.  They picked a story rather than a viable candidate.  And if this was the plan all along, years of careful planning to push Kamala out of the public eye and then pull a 180 and say they had sidelined is now the best person for the job, then I believe its long past time for the tinfoil hat contingent of this board reconsider any notion that the Democrats are capable scheming or executing on anything more nefarious than a pizza party.  The fact that there are appear to be no established rules or laws governing the contingency of a candidate dropping out at the 11th hour is highly concerning.

You don't know me.  I lean GOP on alot of topics: energy, school/education, abortion I have mixed views, Healthcare, Border policies.  I also have many Democratic policies that I support, but most are Biden-esque levels/even more conservative.

I'm from PA, in a GOP county, and really like our Governor Shapiro.  Glad he wasnt chosen to be on the ticket/VP.  He is a moderate IMO, being pushed by the more extreme left wing on certain policies.  I just know he loves his State/people, and has accomplished alot already.  There's a reason his rating are high here.

You can call me what you want, but I'm a centrist at heart and support my community regardless of party affiliation/beliefs, and wont judge them for valuing their stance.  I have opinions like all others, but have little respect for those who feel the need to throw insults/judgment at a whim.

I wasn't raised to support a man of such low character/selfishness, like Trump.  Regardless of my opinion on issues/policies, I can't fathom my son thinking that's what a leader should represent in our country.

So yeah, that must mean I'm a "useful idiot", "not a centrist"- by your words.  🤦‍♂️

I know that you plan to vote for a communist ticket in the upcoming election. That's more than enough.

So spare me the Trump character issues, most of which you've probably been successfully gas lit on anyway.

Presumably you'd also be voting for Biden as well if he wasn't forced out. Joe Biden who showered with his daughter, won't acknowledge his own grandchild and had cocaine in his white house.

It's a communist vs. anti-communist election and you plan to vote for the communists. No deeper dive or wrangling with character issues are necessary.

That’s right, I love communism. I have Karl Marx and Hegel tattooed on my left and right butt cheeks, respectively.

I mean come on, this is getting to be schizophrenia numerology levels of paranoid. You cherry pick sound bites and then attempt to make them sound like something out of Das Kapital. Luckily, Americans are smarter than this.

What changed?  Is this like getting behind Jeff Tuel when he was named the starter?  For that brief moment in time, Tueltime was the best QB we had since Bledsoe.  At the beginning of the following week, he was neck and neck with Billy Joe Hobert.

I think it’s refreshing to have a candidate who is 1) not a geriatric and 2) not a Biden, Clinton, or Bush.

There’s a good post by a guy named Noah Smith on Substack where he hypothesizes that there’s a general desire to move on from the 2010s, so Harris represents an opportunity to do so.

  • Under Walz, Minnesota became a high-crime state for the first time ever...
  • Under Walz, student achievement tumbled even as spending on schools skyrocketed:
  • Under Walz, per capita GDP in Minnesota fell below the national average, for the first time ever
  • Under Walz, increases in energy costs have far outstripped the national average:
  • And under Walz, Minnesota has joined New York, California and Illinois as a state that people of all ages are fleeing

VP picks are typically inconsequential, as long as you adhere to the first rule just as in medicine: Do no harm.

The dems violated that first rule.

does politics get your dick hard or something? I just found this forum…and it’s bizarre going back reading some of your posts, the amount of false disinformation being shared from Twitter is wild. Like touch grass weirdo.

Careful, according to him anyone to the left of Pinochet is a Marxist.

The choice is bizarre for a number of obvious reasons, though as a miscalculation it makes sense as an insight into Harris’s understanding of America in this moment.

For an election where the economy, immigration and crime are paramount voter concerns, Harris has just added a blue-state governor who is weak on all three.

Minnesota has seen a shrinking workforce with residents fleeing the state at record levels during Walz’s tenure, his record on border security is marked by little more than unserious flippancy — and as for crime, well… Walz’s record during the summer of George Floyd will be central to Republican attacks. Even Walz himself admitted in a press conference the response to the rioters was an “abject failure”; his slow action in that moment — combined with Harris’s promotion of a bailout fund for those same rioters — hands the Trump-Vance campaign a viscerally powerful attack line at just the moment they needed it.

In a vibes-based election, apparently Democrats think picking a white bespectacled “I would have voted for Obama for a third term” guy who happens to wear a field jacket is all it takes to transform a politician who makes fellow Minnesotans Hubert Humphrey and Walter Mondale look conservative into a “moderate.” Moderation is a label rendered particularly ridiculous when assigned to one of the most radical culture-war governors in America.

Walz is big on getting rid of any limits for any leftist priorities. He signed an extreme bill with no age limit on transgender treatment for minors — consistent with the Biden administration’s advice, but utterly at odds with the scientific treatment trends out of Europe.

He signed abortion policies into law that have no gestational limits; even Planned Parenthood itself officially agrees this is the most pro-abortion ticket ever.

And that’s before you get to all the other issues — education, energy, guns and more. It’s impossible to find an issue where Walz can conceivably be described as in the political middle of the nation — which is probably why even though he’s from the same state as Amy Klobuchar, his winning cohort was completely different.

If you buy the idea that Walz’s appearance will lend itself to a veneer of centrism, disguising his DSA-friendly leftism as folksy and familiar instead of radical, there are plenty of media partisans willing to sell that line to you. But for the Harris campaign, this seems like a selection with massive potential to backfire. Choosing Josh Shapiro or Mark Kelly might not have inspired the progressive activists, but they would absolutely come around in an election waged against Trump and Vance.

So instead of picking a popular swing-state politician who would appeal to normie Independent voters, Harris is doubling down on progressive left energy in a way that seems, in a repeat of the nature of her presidential campaign failed in 2020, way too online.
