Watched Pete Buttigieg's interview with John Stewart on the Daily Show today. JD Vance said childless people have "no physical commitment to the future of this country." Pete Buttigieg responded, "When I was deployed to Afghanistan, I didn't have kids back then, but I will tell you, especially when there was rocket attack going on, my commitment to this country felt pretty physical."

Wow JD Vance is weird for saying childless military men don’t have a physical commitment to our country.

You’re an idiot if you think he meant people out of high school in the military.  Pete is just reminding you that he’s a useful idiot that was in the military - where he was recruited as a CIA plant - Obama’s CIA.

His campaign was asked. How hard is it to answer no he didn’t have sex with a couch.

Im just asking the questions here. As we dig deeper into him not denying it or his campaign denying it, it gets odder and odder.

There is nothing for him to deny.  It's a fake story that doesn't deserve to be acknowledged.  That's called feeding the trolls.  You clearly don't seem to be accepting or grasping the fact that it's fake.

No.

It was a really good joke tweet! Knowing the old rule that it is impossible to analyze comedy ...

1. JD Vance is kind of stiff and awkward on the national stage, and he's trying too hard to be Joe Sixpack, if the Sixpack is Diet Mountain Dew. He's also trying way too hard to be a Trump insult comic. Instead, as one commenter said, he's the Great Lakes Ron DeSantis.

2. Somehow the "sex with a couch" works against that backdrop.

3. The tweet itself was simple yet specific. It involve a rubber glove and a couch. And it gave a reference in standard citation form (Vance, p. 179-81). Far enough into the book, knowing that most people never made it that far.

Simple. Elegant. Beautifully done.

Dare I say "edgy" which a lot of old fogeys here just don't get.

So making up fake stories about him makes him weird? I think it's a narrative on this entire election. The Dems can't run on their record because they screwed up the entire country so all they can do is name call and make stuff up. Pretty sad that some of you would vote for this. Most of us care about actually fixing this country that is going down the tubes right in front of our eyes. It's very sad

You can feel the fear in the GOP now.  It is entertaining.

That's what gives it legs. It blindsided them. They've been on about Democrats not being like "normal Americans" since the Clinton Administration. Turnabout is fair play. Never saw it coming, and have no idea how to respond other than "oh yeah, look at your own weirdos," which isn't working.

Seriously?  There are no legs.  It's a complete joke and people are laughing at the Left for yet another failed tactic.  Anyone that thinks the non-Left is in a state of fear is simply deluding themselves.  The Left's tactics aren't working and haven't been effective for some time now.  But, of course, the Left will try their best with the feeble tactics to turn the table and wag the dog by deflecting and say the non-Left tactics aren't working.  And the only reason they will say that is because they are working.  Ah, the Left is so weird...

The Left seems to have an unhealthy fascination with sex, sexuality, and children.

See what I mean about not getting it?

"The Left" is having far too much fun with the uptight attitudes about sex, sexuality, and children that still prevail in official conservatism.

I don't actually think hooker-banger Trump fits that, and I know Vance doesn't, at least in their private attitudes.

But they're still spouting (particularly Vance) the old-fashioned Republican "normal Americans are married (multiple times if you know hIllbilly elegy) and have kids and don't let their kids see drag queens" stuff. And "the left" continues to troll them.  And the "weird fascination" is now officially a problem for "the right" too.

Care to share your parodies of the left?

Oh, I'll let you guys do that.

My unwelcome advice: be a little more sophisticated about it. Elon Musk thinks it's still funny (in kind of a meta way, laughing at how deliberately stupid his insults are) to do the Bevis and Butthead thing. He's stuck in the 90s. Couch Banger is an absurdist gem. Sorry, it still makes me laugh just a little.

I'm sorry, but you can call me "uptight" all you want.  I don't think it's funny or fun to bring children to strip clubs and watch men dressed in drag taking their clothes off or showing their testicles during the Olympic ceremonies.  Or having pornographic material in middle school libraries or teaching young kids about sex transitioning.  Just so you know, that's not trolling, they are serious about all of those things.  If you think all of that is appropriate and cool then you, my friend, are the one that is not "getting it".

I think you just made that up because you want it to be true.  "You can't handle the truth".  You have a very weird way of thinking and convincing yourself of false truths.

Your point seems to be that exploiting children for the lulz is fun.  That's twisted dude.  Nothing fun or funny about that.

It's not true! And I think pretty much everyone who's seen those memes understands that. The new and improved JD Vance gives off a little bit of a creeper vibe, so it works!

Fighting back effectively starts with understanding and accepting that. Sorry, politics is a contact sport. It's just that the contact usually isn't with a couch.

Correct, it's not true.  Why run with it?  This is the type of stuff that people are getting fed up with.  We're tired of the games and word play (from both sides).  We all deserve better and we're getting tired of it.  The word games are ineffective for the majority at this point and when one side is really trying to run with it (the Left at this point), it's laughable and is no longer working.  In fact, it's backfiring in a big way.

Of all the attacks Kamala Harris's team could have launched against Donald Trump's VP pick, J.D. Vance, calling him "weird," was probably the worst choice.

If Vance has a quirk, it's his millennial bluntness, but anyone who has any experience hanging out with millennials — particularly millennials on the right — it's a pretty common trait that I would argue is a necessary counter to the multi-generational penchant for political correctness on the left.

I'm struggling to see anything weird about Vance, and I'm not just saying that because I plan to vote for Trump, but I have no doubt that leftists absolutely do find him weird, and I can confidently say that this actually reveals more about the left's mentality than it does the right's.

According to The Hill, Vance's "weirdness" comes from his purported views about women

.

The Hill gets quotes from other Democrats using the word over and over again.

It's your typical Democrat tactic of "repeat a word until it becomes synonymous with the subject" tactic.

I have a tip for the left. If you're dressed up in an elaborate costume, flailing your arms around in some form of interpretive dance while decrying capitalism and describing yourself as "non-binary," and you're doing this in a room filled with people who are dressed normally, converse normally, and have no confusion about who they are or what their identity is...then you're the weird one.

Democrats have spent the last few years dragging America further and further down a path it clearly didn't want to go out of some misguided delusion that radicalism should be the new normal, but if you have to subversively introduce your ideas through pre-established avenues or even force them into businesses and schools through politically based programs because they aren't catching on by themselves, then perhaps the ideas you're pushing are just too weird to begin with.

Vance's ideas aren't weird. Many of them are adopted naturally.

Moreover, if you're having to rely on the media to carry your water and force a lie on the people repeatedly in order to get them to believe it, then maybe your ideas aren't very good. In fact, they're probably too weird for people, and maybe this artificial normalization you're attempting is just as weird seeing as how it's right out of "1984," which warned of a weird future where the government had to force its weirdness through everyone via brainwashing.

DONALD TRUMP: I have an Article II, where I have the right to do whatever I want as president.

We will root out the communists, Marxists, fascists, and the radical left thugs that live like vermin within the confines of our country.

And we will immediately stop all of the pillaging and theft. Very simply, if you rob a store, you can fully expect to be shot as you are leaving that store. (APPLAUSE) Shot!

You're not going to be a dictator, are you? I said no, other than day one.

In 2016, I declared, I am your voice. Today, I add, I am your warrior. I am your justice. And for those who have been wronged and betrayed, I am your retribution. I am your retribution.

If seen this. In regular people language this means he'll declare a series of executive orders on day one to shut the border, reverse Biden administration energy policy, and other disastrous initiatives.

What's weird is Biden appointing a bald guy with red lipstick wearing a women's dress stealing people's luggage at the airport.
