Whose life needs to be better? Yours? Get a better job then. If you are talking about other people you don't know then mind your own business. Opportunity is there for those that are willing to work for it.

My parents were both born into lower class households, my dad's family had 6 kids in a 2 bed apt and he didn't know if he would have food that day and his favorite meal was spaghetti with ketchup. To go from that to where we are now in 1 generation can't be accomplished with socialism where everyone is the same no matter your effort. Get a clue. It never works, especially when you have such a large part of the population unwilling to work. But you are trying to save these people. Have you ever spent time in the ghetto? Do you realize that these people wouldn't go to college if it was free or work if you handed them a job? You need to come back to reality, you live in a dream world where people do the right things in life.

Good thing the Democrats aren’t socialist then. But countries with “socialist” policies like single-payer healthcare are doing quite well. Germany has had it since the 1880s. And yet, they are not socialist.

The noble idea of “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps” is obsolete.

It's obsolete? I did it. JD Vance did it. Anyone willing to work can do it. That's what freedom means. If you want to be successful and willing to work for it then you can.

I would have thought that the Dominion voting machines, with their Hugo Chavez connection, would have fixed this.

Do you believe Communist and Socialist is the same thing?

If not, how many Communist members of Congress are there?

Socialism is a rebrand of communism. Yes it leads to the same place. People get hooked on the welfare state and have to vote one way to keep their benefits and one party gets all powerful and you end up with a ruling class and a bunch of plebs. Happens every time. Checks and balances are needed. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. If you want to "own nothing and be happy" move to North Korea

Yes sounds familiar because that happens every election in every communist country in the world

Yup, Putin, Saddam, Trump and Maduro

If you try and oppose the ruling class they have a fake trial and try and throw you in jail or assassinate you. Sound familiar?

Well that’s blatantly wrong, but even if your argument was correct, you’ve identified 9 current members of Congress as socialist.

So since you believe that only 3% of Dems in Congress are socialist, I’m glad we can agree that the Democratic Party is absolutely *not* socialist.

It’s not 1840 anymore. It’s really ok to have universal healthcare like the rest of the planet.

One of them is running for President. Voted the most progressive left wing senator there was. Your argument might have had weight if not for the fact that one could be ruling in the next few months

So you want to let in 10 million illegal immigrants, make them citizens, and then pay for their health care? And who is going to pay for this? Kick everyone out who doesn't belong here and doesn't work and then we'll talk. 4 years of Trump and he might clean this place up to where we can have those discussions

Pay for it the same way other countries do. Through taxes.

Your idea that we can’t have it because “illegal immigrants” might also get it is childish, pathetic, and selfish.

I suggest you read a little about the red scare, and communism. America want safe places to educate their kids, affordable healthcare, the ability to work and have a good life. Americans want fairness, so yes the rich should pay more in taxes, and those taxes should be spent by the people to improve the quality of life for all Americans. Seriously.

Within reason, certainly.  Tax is an important part of the system of governance.

The challenge is that in spite of the enormous sums of money going into the tax pool from a near endless variety of source, how much actually makes it to the point of improving “the quality of life for all Americans”.

To boot, for those that pitch the notion of affordable health, what’s the current model for doing that efficiently?  Medicare?  Medicaid? The VA?  The US Government in general?

Like any household planning for a successful journey through life, it starts with identifying waste, inefficiency, consolidation and rational spending to see where you’re at before you throw more money at the problem.
