Jamie Moyer is a good example of a pitcher that can augment a team’s season in a very positive way without being an ace. He pitched until he was about 68. There aren’t any of those any more. Maybe 5 in the entire MLB. The rest are all stars, injured stars, or lottery tickets with no control. If one team decides to develop a couple Moyer types, they may end up with a Maddux. Going to be quite awhile to develop pitchers throwing like Moyer effectively. Baseball now wants more of what they eliminated. Good luck.
