"Sounds about right"

"If Trump succeeds in forcing through mass deportations, combined with Elon hacking away at the government, firing people and reducing the deficit – there will be an initial severe overreaction in the economy," user @FischerKing64 wrote on X. "Markets will tumble. But when the storm passes and everyone realizes we are on sounder footing, there will be a rapid recovery to a healthier, sustainable economy," he added.

"Sounds about right," Musk replied.

These "new right" types learned a valuable lesson from the Clinton Democrats: never let a crisis go to waste.

And they're planning to take it one step further: create an economic crisis, then use that as an excuse to gain more power over the economy and politics.

It’s your theory that Republicans will gain more power over politics by creating an economic crisis. Do I have that right? Seems like a really well thought out plan and I’m sure it will work out spectacularly for them.

No, it's Elon Musk's theory, and he's not a Republican. He's hitched his wagon to a nominal Republican, but he has his own agenda.

If Trump wins and launches his deportation of illegal immigrants, is he going to deport Elon Musk?

Elon Musk worked in US illegally in 1995 after quitting school – report

"[T]he world’s wealthiest individual was almost certainly working in the US without correct authorization for a period in 1995 after he dropped out of Stanford University to work on his debut company, Zip2, which sold for about $300m four years later.

Legal experts said foreign students cannot drop out of school to build a company even if they are not getting paid."

Oh, and here's a video of his brother admitting that they were violating immigration laws.

If he lied about this on his citizenship application, he could be eligible for denaturalization.

I'm assuming MAGA is going to be very concerned and upset about this...

He can just cross from Mexico and all is forgiven right?

Elon: there's gonna be pain in the short term, but it'll all be worth it!

For Elon: a haircut to his roughly $800 billion net worth. Hey, maybe even a couple hundred billion. Poor guy.

Ordinary Americans: wipe out half of your retirement savings, or leave you without a job.

Sounds like a good plan.

So just like CNN?  All the networks?

Tell us how they police “disinformation” and what exactly it is the Soros family finances who they finance and why.

The party that is pushing pro-union and pro-worker policies is the corporatist party.

The party whose only major piece of legislation in a decade was permanent corporate tax cuts and temporary individual tax cuts, and whose nominee has told billionaires and corporate leaders he’ll do whatever they want if they give him money is the party of the people.

Got to appreciate Leon’s chutzpah telling a judge (there's a difference between "randomly" and "by chance,") to pay a “salary”.

All true.

His lawyers are arguing that Musk misspoke when he said a person who signed his fealty to the 1st/2nd Amendment pledge would be chosen AT RANDOM to receive a million dollars.

They're saying that the Musk group would vet them to see if they'd be good spokespeople for his PAC, and that this makes them contractors rather than "winners."

Suckered again by the world's richest man as he tries to weasel his way out of a plan that clearly ran afoul of the law as written.
