What was in this “deal” for a crisis up until election year Dems told us wasn’t happening?

Was there aid going somewhere?

What executive orders for the border did Biden toss on day 1?  Then reinstate in his election year where he quit in late July?

Further, why do these border surges (planned invasions to vote) keep happening when Ds are POTUS both real and fake presidents.

Trump, who wants to end democracy, also told his congressional allies NOT to fix the border. That's all you need to know

Oh, we’re going to go there?

After what we’ve just witnessed from the Democrats, I do not GAF about your “threat to democracy” whining.

How the parties pick candidates is up the the parties.  What the Democrat Party did is irrelevant to attempting to overturn a free and fair election as directed in the Constitution up to and including defending insurrectionists who set up a gallows on the Capitol grounds intent on hanging Mike Pence.

Yep.  Says the party that just ran a coup against a sitting president.

That’s 2 now in 4 years - 3 if we count 2017 which I will.

There was no coup.  President Biden is still the POTUS.

Like they have any integrity left.

Vance called Trump Hitler.  Vance is the hypocrite.

Ahh yes, the border bill that would have codified the acceptability of thousands of illegal border crossings per day.

The bill would not have given people crossing the border the right to stay in this country indefinitely.  It would have increased the number of immigration judges and reduced the length of time these aliens were here.

And hence the cynical Trump "half a loaf is worse than none" position.

One of the things that frustrates me the most about the far left and progressives is their tendency to do purity tests. If someone or something doesn't meet 100% of their criteria, then they reject it.

While that's a subset of the Dems, apparently the majority of the GOP has adopted the purity test. Instead of seeing a deal that pushes the border issue in their direction even if it isn't everything they want, they decide to find reasons to reject it because it's not their perfect solution.

By necessity, every bill has compromises. There are things in it that the people voting for it don't like.

The Dems handed one of the most conservative senators an opportunity to write his immigration bill in exchange for foreign aid to support Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. The bill was conservative enough that Dems would almost universally reject it if it wasn't part of the broader aid package.

The Dems sucked it up and decided to vote for a bill they disliked. The GOP took their orders to opposed it with the goal of avoiding anything that might actually improve the border situation in an election year, tanking their own proposal.

The gullible will lap up the talking points from their masters but the truth remains: the GOP tanked their own proposal because they were worried it would work.

“This is one of the great tricks that I think the sexual revolution pulled on the American populace, which is the idea that like, ‘well, okay, these marriages were fundamentally, you know, they were maybe even violent, but certainly they were unhappy — and so getting rid of them and making it easier for people to shift spouses like they change their underwear, that’s going to make people happier in the long term,’”  - JD Vance

so women in violent marriages should stay in them. WOW did Trump vet this guy at all? He should stick with his couches.

In 2015, in an excerpt from an email between Vance and Nelson, he also allegedly referred to Trump as a demagogue.

A demagogue is a political leader who seeks support by appealing to the desires and prejudices of ordinary people rather than by using rational arguments.

"I'm obviously outraged at Trump's rhetoric, and I worry most of all about how welcome Muslim citizens feel in their own country, Vance said, per the New York Times reports.

"But I also think that people have always believed crazy s**t and there have always been demagogues willing to exploit the people who believe crazy s**t."

Wow.  He has his finger on the pulse of many MAGA's who post here....

Seems like a yes man politician so far, but I'm interested to see where it goes. He definitely has a more interesting profile than the former VP Pence.

Yes, the ultimate yes man.

And we have definitely seen where it went in the last few weeks.  Yikes.  They may get rid of him, as trump is the least loyal person who has maybe ever entered American politics and he sees all the negative press Vance is getting. It his worst nightmare--bad press and the media  for his boy, vance, taking away press and ignoring him, as they focus on crazy man hypocrite vance.

Cant wait to see how Maga reacts to the fact that Vance had a Hindu wedding, that his wife is Hindu, and the pictures of Vance in his Hindu wedding clothes gets out to them.   Kind of undermines their huge Christian Nationalists message, doesn't it? Those pigs are going to  be furious!

The past week has seen an outpouring of hate from the far right over the wife of Republican vice presidential nominee J.D. Vance. The unremarkable fact that Vance is married to Usha Vance, a woman of Indian heritage, has become a fixation for white nationalists online.

Following Monday’s announcement of Vance as Trump’s running mate, white nationalist “groyper” Nick Fuentes seemed to enter a meltdown on his broadcast, saying, “What kind of man marries somebody that isn’t a Christian? What kind of man marries somebody named Usha? Clearly, he doesn’t value his racial identity, his heritage. Clearly, he doesn’t value his religion. He doesn’t marry a woman that professes Jesus Christ? What does that say about him?”

I don't think they'll care.  trump is clearly an atheist and they worship him.  Which is worse to them::  a Hindu or atheist.? The answer is neither.  They just want a strongman autocratic leader to "save" them.

Thanks, a great link.

And love the 'new' stuff, that I have not seen yet, on vance's tweet, in one of the articles in the link:

‘Trump makes people I care about afraid. Immigrants, Muslims, etc. Because of this I find him reprehensible. God wants better of us.’”

Can you imagine the powerful ads they can have, merely using vance's own words?  They better be working on it, but hopefully not using Biden's very weak ad team, but new folks.

It's scary how many people bought and are still buying the "he had sex with his couch" lie.  But not surprising.
