I have lived in both Florida and Buffalo, and while aesthetically South Florida has it charms, Buffalo has better character, a better football team, more integrity and grit, is far more pleasant in the Fall. It is crazy to live here now, with insurance rates skyrocketing, driving insane, the state a political clown show that raced Texas to the bottom in dehumanizing all but the rich and fascist-leaning. I'm sure the state will be underwater in 20 years, although our policy will be to convert the bodies of the poor and middle class into seawalls to protect multimillion dollar beach homes. I can assure you the Dolphins will never win a championship-football still remains a sport of toughness and you cannot be tough in South Florida-there is far too much fun for football players to have to truly dedicate themselves. The fan base has evaporated since the 70's -you'll find the stadium only half full because it is a soulless heat-humidity convection oven, and frankly people would rather be at the beach or on the ocean.  I plan on retiring anywhere but here.

I think Spring and Fall are my favorite seasons here, absolute bliss. Summer once again isn’t too bad. Occasionally there will be a scorching hot day but not too bad 90% of the time.. Even if I win the lotto I will never leave NYS.

It was for a good cause. Kids Escaping Drugs. Barry Lillis the former  weatherman at channel 2, had a problem with alcohol. Got sober ad became  a minister.  He started Kids Escaping Drugs which is still going strong today. It is located right next to  the supermarket I go to.

Pizza. A lot of the old italian Restaurants and their families are gone but some are still standing.

o'scugnizzo (skineets as we called it) is still standing though and the best pizza in the country.

2nd oldest pizza shop in the country. The steak and greens sub on garlic bread they have there is excellent as well. Theres a new butcher shop on Bleeker next to Cafe Caruso that’s pretty good. He makes his own mushroom stew, but be warned it does have mushrooms in it.

and Jonnu Smith needs to be slammed on a table right out of Buffalo

I know this has nothing to do with this post but i am in the joking mood...

This relates to the Seahawks Pats super bowl in 2015 ----       I usually wear my lucky Seahawks jersey when I take a test because I know i shouldn't pass!

Yeah - I'd really prefer stifling heat, hurricanes and shallow people.

Hey, Jonnu - you'll never win the division while you're there. You'll be looking up at Buffalo literally the entire time.  Allen is better than Tua, and the Bills are better than the Phins.

Nyah, nyah.

Things like this used to bother me and get under my skin.

He isn't entirely wrong though.  While south Florida isn't my cup of tea, buffalo, even with all it's charms and acquired tastes, is a few notches below most other pro sports cities.

Desperately need a fortune 500 or 3 to anchor downtown.  Need money, people, and a self-sustained downtown economy.

People dislike the snow and cold.

I do wonder when/if our climate and access to cold water could make this area a huge hot spot by the time jonnu Smith is an old man

I’ll give him credit for securing the bag in one of the dumber FA contracts given out in Patriots history, but if we’re talking about his legacy as a player ? Only went over 500 yards one time and completely flopped in New England. He had a bit of a resurrection in ATL I guess, but nothing special. Every time he’s come to Buffalo he gets completely shut down by our defense and I’m guessing that’s where the animosity comes from. This whole “Buffalo is a **** hole” is outdated as hell. Seems like every player who comes here falls in love w/ it because they are treated like kings. Bills fans live and die for their team, it’s a birthright.

He's the same dude he's always been - a glorified H-Back.  Not strong enough or effective enough as an in-line blocker.  All of his big plays come from breaking tackles on short routes - because he's not a good route runner and he has inconsistent hands.  Athlete who never developed into a particularly notable football player.

Lot of dudes who can catch 3 yard out routes on that team, and he's not likely the top pick to do so.  Enjoy your time in Miami collecting checks for riding the pine.

I am from Utica.  I currently live in North Texas, been here 22 years.  The weather in north texas is terrible.  There are two seasons.  Hot like the surface of the sun from memorial day to late september....and not hot.  We get terrible ice storms in february, january is generally cold and its grey here like everywhere else until march.  Then march comes and you have 3 months of horrific thunderstorms and live under the threat of tornadoes.  They have no basements here.  so tornado's are an awesome experience.

If you are not from here people are rude and will give u crap about it all times.  Most people here are self righteous entitled ricks with a p.  the most arrogant place you will ever visit.  There was a time where homes were more affordable than other major cities but that is long gone and our property taxes here are among the highest in the country.

My Daughter graduates from high school in 2 years.  so i have 1 more miserable summer here.  Its awful.  I miss the seasons and the leaves and great weather in the fall.  I would put the fall in central new york/upstate/western new york up against anything.  70 during the day, 50's at night.  Its magical.

I just wish a certain segment of the population didn't ruin the economy of upstate new york...its a damn shame.

Either way I am moving home in 2 years for many of the reasons u stated. The only thing I will hate is the dreariness of february and early march.

Spent two years in Dallas a while back. The first summer had over 30 consecutive days with 100+ temps, and the first winter had a cold and stormy snap that allowed my neighbor's patio snowman to survive two full weeks. Kind of dug the city overall, to be honest. Really diverse and cosmopolitan and full of transplants. Just have to get past the affluent Okies and SMU brats lol.
