Glenn Campbell was awful in it, that's the only thing that sticks out. He could not act to save his life.

John Wayne had a lot of mediocre to bad movies. True Grit was actually pretty good, much better than the Jeff Bridges version.

I'd actually thought of this not too long ago. And to me, it's not even close. John Wayne gave the character personality. Jeff Bridges just made the character an ornery grump.

I would say everyone was.  The Coen Brothers can make a good movie.  

I usually think Matt Damon is just a face that says lines on a script but actually thought he was really good in True Grit.

If Josh Allen thinks Hailee was hot in True Grit, remind you she was like 14 when she made that movie, would that be weird?

It would be weird. Like, you wouldn't look at a picture of your wife when she was a kid and think she's attractive, even though you now find her attractive as a woman.

I would argue that the character gave the character personality. John Wayne, while he played legendary roles and had the typical Hollywood leading man presence, was not a good actor.
