US Egg Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Voted for the legendary Wayne. I'd vote the same were the question was who was a worse actor. Quote
boyst Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Glenn Campbell was awful in it, that's the only thing that sticks out. He could not act to save his life. Quote
Johnny Hammersticks Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Bridges. John Wayne was corny as hell, IMO (ducks). 1 1 2 Quote
DrW Posted July 10 Posted July 10 John Wayne had a lot of mediocre to bad movies. True Grit was actually pretty good, much better than the Jeff Bridges version. Quote

Fleezoid Posted July 10 Posted July 10 I'd actually thought of this not too long ago. And to me, it's not even close. John Wayne gave the character personality. Jeff Bridges just made the character an ornery grump. Quote
Royale with Cheese Posted July 10 Author Posted July 10 As good as Bridges was, Josh Allen's girl was the best in the movie. 1 Quote

The Coen Brothers can make a good movie. I usually think Matt Damon is just a face that says lines on a script but actually thought he was really good in True Grit. Question... If Josh Allen thinks Hailee was hot in True Grit, remind you she was like 14 when she made that movie, would that be weird? Quote

Like, you wouldn't look at a picture of your wife when she was a kid and think she's attractive, even though you now find her attractive as a woman. Quote

John Wayne, while he played legendary roles and had the typical Hollywood leading man presence, was not a good actor. Quote
