Big Turk Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Always remember the game against the Browns in the playoffs we played against him, famously known as the Ronnie Harmon game... Sucks he is going thru it, hopefully things work out... https://www.yahoo.com/news/ex-browns-qb-bernie-kosar-140703429.html 2 6 1 Quote
Beast Posted July 9 Posted July 9 (edited) That sucks. Maybe the liver issue is from self-medicating. Always liked Bernie. Edited July 9 by Beast 1 Quote

Yes, there are other possible causes but cirrhosis of the liver is often caused by heavy drinking. As Bills fans know, players from that era liked to party. I liked him too. Hope he does the best he can. 1 Quote
Sweats Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Sad to hear, however, that dude had a huge, huge drinking problem. 2 Quote

Royale with Cheese Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Hate it for him. A good QB and your name is Bernie...that's awesome. He's got to be the Browns best QB ever right? Quote
May Day 10 Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Classic 80s player Those Browns teams were pretty decent. Webster Slaughter, Ozzie Newsome, Reggie Langhorne with Kosar throwing in old Cleveland Municipal. 2 1 1 Quote
RoyBatty is alive Posted July 9 Posted July 9 (edited) After a while with concussions and seizures, you would think a rational person would call it quits way before he did. Reminds me of our current leader. As a football player, I found him boring that stayed with the game way too long (obviously), reminds me of so many mediocre QBs the Bills had during the drought on terrible teams. I hate to be cold but I cant imagine with Parkinson's he is no where near the top of the list for a liver transplant. Edited July 9 by RoyBatty is alive 1 Quote
Charles Romes Posted July 9 Posted July 9 He was good enough to have a 15 year career but that Cleveland team hit the wall hard. 2 Quote
Ben Posted July 9 Posted July 9 I believe to be even considered for a transplant you need to be able to show youve been sober for 6 months. So he must be off the booze for a while to be on the list. Quote

Wow. He was a top QB in the AFC for 4-5 years, 3 AFC Title games. One of the best deep throwers ever, very smart QB. Quote

Mediocre starting QB on mostly dismal teams. Edited July 9 by RoyBatty is alive Quote
JP51 Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Regardless of his NFL career and it was not an insignificant one... he is a human being and this sucks for him... prayers for Bernie 5 1 Quote

Not disagreeing just saying he must be trying to stay sober now to even have a shot at a transplant 1 Quote

SoonerBillsFan Posted July 9 Posted July 9 I used to throw in the Highland games with his former center Mike Baab. 1 Quote
