There are elite communists, street communists and everyday garden variety useful idiots.

Even Pravda has to sprinkle in some blue sky stuff every now and then to keep the useful idiots useful.

Just like with the vast majority of the electorate,  there a very few if any card carrying communists among media power brokers.

They merely need to be reliable.  Which is why an unabashed useful idiot like Finding is such a fan.

It would have been more reliable and just as acceptable to say "we can't confirm Trump wrote it, but there are people saying he had a hand in its creation."

That's what you would say if you want to promote the lie that he wrote it.  It's like "we can't confirm he doesn't beat his wife, but..."

Right, and there are multiple other outlets that will do exactly that. Then there are many more who will tell you that Trump is the main author.

Notice even with this CNN instance their only fact check was about Trump not being listed as an author. That's it. No context of Trump himself saying that he had absolutely nothing to do at all with its creation.

Yes, exactly what I mean.

No it's not.  You said it would be reliable and acceptable to make people believe he wrote it when he had nothing to do with it.

Apparently Matt Walsh left these cards all around at the DNC.

Project2025.com and the QR code on the back takes you to a website for his movie.

Sections of Project 2025 assert that a liberal entrenched bureaucracy in Washington inhibited and sabotaged the 1st Trump administration's efforts at enacting policies and reforms. This is truth. And that in order to facilitate the campaign objectives of a new administration, that bureaucracy needs to be replaced. Otherwise they'll inhibit a 2024 administration as they did a 2016 one. This is true too.

So specific to this, the objection to Project 2025 is that its not okay to put people into government positions that will carry out the objectives and plans of the elected government?

I think Trump has also stated that he does in fact agree with some of the proposals in Project 2025 even though he had nothing to do with producing it.

Astonishing that Trump might agree with some policies proposed by a conservative think tank. Keyword: some.

Otherwise it's great to know that we can attach any and all wacky policies coming out of the Brookings institute to dems.

its all part of the Democrats campaign strategy of make-believe. The biggest part of which is gaslighting voters that everything which happened in the past 4 years is Trump's fault because through some magic trick to create an alternate reality, he's been running the country and not Biden/Harris.

I'm curious what some specifically object to with project 2025? Has anyone read the thing?

One point suggests that in order to successfully implement new government policies and reforms its necessary to replace some 6 to 8 thousand federal employees responsible for administering and managing the running of the departments and cabinets. The premise is these employees are ideologically committed to liberal causes and positions and sabatoged the former President's first term. Replacing them is required if you want to get any changes implemented. I tend to agree.

This is consistent with what liberals have systematically done over decades which is replacing managers in federal, state, and local governments, and most private institutions such as school boards, universities, etc., with ideologically compliant people that will prioritize the progressive agenda over getting anything done.

It would make sense the left opposes the enemy use any approach or tool they've used and understand is effective. But they can't simply state that publicly so excuses to criticize must be invented using the standard storylines.

Quick counterfactual for the people who are upset that Trump is being connected to Project 2025:

Imagine some lefty organization like Occupy Democrats came out with something called Opportunity 2025 which was promoting all of the big scary socialist communist fascist whatever MAGA believes about the left. When asked about it, Kamala Harris said she knew nothing about it and didn't know anyone involved. However, reporting showed that:

  • 140 people who were involved in it had worked for her
  • Several other people who involved in it had been appointed to positions by Harris previously
  • The person overseeing it had previously worked for Harris and claims to want to work for Harris again if she's elected
  • One of the top people behind it was caught on secret footage saying that Harris blessed it and was very supportive of their work
  • Harris flew the leader of Opportunity 2025 effort in a private plane before speaking at an event for the leader's organization. Separately, she praised him for doing "an unbelievable job"
  • Harris had previously stated that Occupy Democrats policy work was going to be the groundwork and detail plans for "exactly what our movement will do.. when the American people give us a colossal mandate"
  • Harris had received private briefings of the details of the plan
  • Tim Walz wrote the foreword to an upcoming book by one of the leaders of the Opportunity 2025 effort

Would you believe that Harris wasn't connected to Opportunity 2025? Would you similarly chastise any conservatives who tried to link it to her by saying "well, she specifically disavowed it?"

I think we all know the answer.

What? No way! Who could have known!?

I’m sure a lot of people in this thread feel pretty silly right now…

So Axios is saying that unnamed maga members have said project 25 is the agenda

But Trump and his advisers haven’t

and Goosey is claiming that we should all feel silly.

Someone should ‘feel’ silly alright,

Sad
