To be fair, Isaiah Hodgins wasn't their best receiver in 2022, and they grabbed him up because Sterling Shepard, Wan'dale Robinson, and finally Darius Slayton (who is their best receiver) was playing hurt. However and to your point, when the team's best receiver is 26 and has never had more than 50 receptions or exceeded 800 receiving yards, that is a problem. I can't. Why can you "live with" a drop off in protecting the only true and demonstrated "freakazoid" on the offense and one of the best players on the team? The Bills didn't have the fewest sacks in the league because their OL is brilliant and can afford Allen great protection if they drop off a bit, they had the fewest sacks because of Allen's ability to extend the play, move out of trouble, and scramble I think them having the fewest sacks is a combination of both those reasons. Frankly, I’m sick of seeing Allen getting his head slammed onto the turf. Cook being a top 5 rusher is a great start to changing their offensive philosophy. It was cool watching him hurdle and stiff arm linebackers, but he’s on the wrong side of 20 and he needs to be preserved for the future. We all know Allen is capable of dissecting a defense in the pocket. Use that big strong frame to get away from sacks and buy time for a big completion. Look at John Elway when he got Terrell Davis and finally won back to back championships. I know that was a while ago, but getting your QB an elite game has never changed. Allen is big & strong enough to evade the pass rush so that’s why I’m saying they can handle a small drop off in pass pro if it means more physicality run blocking. It also means less pass plays will be called so it will protect him in that regard. Quote
paulmm3 Posted July 6 Posted July 6 The Giants OL last year was one of the worst OL groups I've ever seen. I felt bad for Daniel Jones. Remember vividly watching Giants Cowboys season opener and it was like 4 guys through the turnstiles on top of Daniel Jones within a second of snapping the ball every play 1 Quote
