Big Turk
I work remotely but have met the team I work with several times and get along well with most of them. In general, we work very well and efficiently together and communicate all the time thru various teams channels, video calls and meetings. Is that $55/hr. with or without benefits? Pension, health, life insurance, etc... What's overtime (over 40 hrs/week)... Time and 1/2? Without benefits that $55 drops down to "only" like $35/hour... 1

And median wage doesn’t take those things into account.

Well it should! We are definitely slipping and the reason falls on business. Edited June 24 by ExiledInIllinois
ExiledInIllinois
"Well above" should take into consideration the benefits. It always has... We've seemed to have moved the goalposts when benefits aren't taken into consideration. People still need those benefits, even if they have to make it come out of their own pockets Boils down to given a little bit more to cover a lot more expensive. All smoke and mirrors the numbers. muppy
co-workers and Bosses are 2 different subjects. I had pretty even keeled decent folks above me most of the time. I'm thankful for that. I was in sales and it did get cut throat at times. But I didn't give that many ****'s so no skin off my nose I know of some really dickish bosses from hubby though. The ones who claim their teams accolades as their own because they want the glory for themselves. That is RAT behavior. It's sneaky, it's selfish and it's overall dirty pool I think it is in a bosses best interest NOT to be a **** But clearly some of them never got the memo.

Give me the money and the bennys! Getting paid for life and not even working is where it's at! Of course they will pay out... To your beneficiaries. Yeah, i've had bosses like that before as well......it's shady and greasy as hell. Bosses that promote a "team effort" and then claim all the glory and throw their people under the boss to claim all the accolades. I see it in my business all the time. It actually doesn't even bother me anymore.......i can spot these ass clowns a mile away and let the team know to steer clear or to watch their backs around those types. The worst is the young guys with zero experience trying to make a name for themselves, stepping all over everyone to get higher on that company ladder. I'm dealing with some of those douche nozzle types right now, and you know, these young guys trying to "play the game"......i've been doing this for almost 40 years......hell, i've practically invented "the game"......they have no idea who they're dealing with.

He was a high level guy and his schtick must have fooled HIS bosses. He was at best a fluffer. You can sense how much respect I have for he. That would be Zero I don't wish him harm I think karma will at some point deal with guys like him. One way or the other.

I mean, when you work at Mcdonalds like yourself, no one really gives a rats ***, but when you have a high-up, well respected position where 100's of people answer to you, the daily log/report/journal is the only thing you have to keep you out of the court and legal system sometimes. I wouldn't expect you to understand when you're standing at your fry-o-lator all day but aim high and you could make your way to burger flipper in no time.
