You want to grapple with gun control, go ahead.. we can have that conversation (although I doubt it will be in good faith with your “bump stock” comment.. however we also have the 2nd Amendment. Unlike the border wall, which is dumb, the Lankford bill would have actually significantly reduced illegal immigration and helped fix the border. No bill is perfect but that one was so conservative that the Dems would never have voted for it but for the linkage to fighting back against Hamas, Russia, and China. You can find any reason not to support a bill, because they are vehicles of compromise. It takes an adult to admit that it’s not perfect but it’s better than the status quo. Shortening their time in this country to 90 days instead of several years would be a good thing. Trump didn't adequately address the issue even when he had a Republican House and Senate. He wants the issue, not the solution. If you though the bill was weak, wouldn't it have been better to pass the bill and pass a stronger bill once Trump took office? Letting this problem fester for an election issue shows that Trump and Republicans don't want what is best for our country, they want what is best for themselves.
