MarlinTheMagician Posted June 14 Posted June 14 Allen is now, I believe, the 11th highest paid QB in the NFL and behind the likes of Kirk Cousins, Lawrence and Jalen Hurts. He is $12 million below market. Great job by Beane stepping up when he did. That $12 million nets us at least two starters. Interested in thoughts on when we should we extend Allen. Seems there is no time like the present! 7 Quote

MJS Posted June 14 Posted June 14 He's been getting a ton of cash every year, though. They are taking care of him. They'll rework his contract in the next couple of years, probably. 1 Quote
NeverOutNick Posted June 14 Posted June 14 Pay him whatever he wants, whenever he wants. He’s the only reason we’re a Super Bowl contender. Lock him up as a Bill for life 2 6 1 Quote
Sammy Watkins' Rib Posted June 14 Posted June 14 The Hurts contract is interesting. The next three seasons these are his cap hit rankings for the QB position: 2024- 16th $13M 2025- 18th $21M 2026- 15th $31M And then.. 2027- 9th $41M 2028- 4th $47M 2029- 1st $97M 2030* -29 $27M *Only three QB's under contract for 2030 season but got to figure $27M will be cheap. Eagles are basically all in to win these next three seasons with Hurts. Even AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith don't make outrageous money until after 2027. The weird thing is the Joe Burrow contact has no cap relief at all. It's basically consistently high in cap hit for the next six seasons from 2024 to 2029. 1 Quote

HerdMentality Posted June 14 Posted June 14 (edited) This is why they restructured half a dozen other deals, but left the Allen contract alone - even though that’s where the meat is. Edited June 14 by HerdMentality Quote

Yep, like Brady with his TB12 in kind Patriots clientele? https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/report-patriots-pay-a-brady-owned-company-run-by-suspect-partner/amp/ Quote
78thealltimegreat Posted June 14 Posted June 14 Josh seems happy with his contract his endorsements probably make up whatever difference in contract money there is heck he’s the new face of Gatorade now. Id say 2025 is a good year to extend him and pretty much allow him to QB the Bills till his mid 30s Quote

Milanos Milano Posted June 14 Posted June 14 There is no reason to extend him right now. Make him earn it. If he wins a Super Bowl, we can begin talking about backing up the brinks truck. Until that happens, no new contract. 1 1 Quote

Buffalo_Stampede Posted June 14 Posted June 14 This is how much Josh Allen will get. It’s scary. Next years cap is projected $273 million. Josh Allen will get approximately 24% of the cap. ALLEN WILL SIGN FOR $65 million per year. 😲 1 1 1 1 Quote

The cap hits in future years get adjusted all the time. You think he will have a 97M cap hit in 29? That is just what it says on paper, same wth 2030, it will be north of 27M. He will get a redone deal probably after this year. Unless he wants to just "be nice" he deserves to have an AAV approaching 60M, it will happen in due time. Quote
