Maybe somebody with a lot of time on their hands could dig up the statistics on his kicks when Martin was not the holder? Tyler was so good it really is a shame. Inexcusable they haven't at least brought in some decent competition. it's crazy. He was so good before last year. A top kicker imo That type of fall off is rare Edited June 13 by JerseyBills

NickelCity
Well that is unwelcome news. I do not relish a season of bad kicking and waiver wire kickers.

Could it just be Bass, sure, but it's not wrong to point out that in OTAs he had a real consistent showing with a different holder then with the same holder he had last season he was more inconsistent. And the holder does matter, inconsistency there leads to it in the kicks.

Happens all the time. One season a guy is in the Pro Bowl. Next season he’s missing XPs.
Rampant Buffalo
5 hours ago, TheyCallMeAndy said: He was 9-9 halfway through the season. Yeah, well, you always want to cut a player before his slump, rather than after. That way you don't have to put up with someone's bad play. How were the Bills supposed to predict his slump? I, ah, well, I'll have to get back to you on that.
Gregg
Bills will bring in other kickers for a competition. He continues to struggle then he will be kicking somewhere else.

Buffalo_Stampede
I don’t think changing kickers would be smart. Work with him, get him right. He’s a talented kicker. Almost every kicker has down stretches, other than guys like Justin Tucker.

There wasn't a doubt in my mind he would miss that kick by a mile
muppy
is a regression of his ability to kick accurately solely a mental issue? Or he somehow isn't following correct form and he misses? I mean I know he doesn't line up and intend to miss. Can he look at his previous kicking history and some Special teams guru help him? Perfection as a kicker is impossible but where he once was good enough may he not revert back? Somehow? *shrugs*
finn
9 hours ago, TheyCallMeAndy said: He was 9-9 halfway through the season. I vaguely recall McDermott surprisingly not calling on Bass to kick a 50+ yarder late in a game that might have been at midseason. I thought at the time that decision was going to mess with Bass' confidence. Can anyone with a better memory confirm or refute? I'm eager to blame McDermott. 😁
Buffalo03
I think this guy is going through something. His first couple years he seemed spot on. Now he has become completely unreliable. It's strange
