Post the rise of the internet and the Obama error - now their voters are good with it.  Google.  Facebook.  Twitter.  All used by the complex.  Explains why they lost their minds over losing Twitter.

TRUMP TAPS FOX NEWS HOST PETE HEGSETH FOR SECRETARY OF DEFENSE:

 

President-elect Donald Trump has selected Fox News host Pete Hegseth to serve as the next secretary of defense.

 

Hegseth’s appointment, which is sure to attract the ire of Democrats* given his long-standing association with Fox, will require confirmation by the Republican-controlled Senate.

 

Before joining Fox in 2014, Hegseth served as an Army National Guard captain in Afghanistan and Iraq and earned the Bronze Star medal for his service in the latter.

“Pete Hegseth has been an exceptional host on FOX & Friends and FOX Nation and a best-selling author for FOX News Books for nearly a decade,” Fox News Media said in a statement. “His insights and analysis especially about the military resonated deeply with our viewers and made the program the major success that it is today. We are extremely proud of his work at FOX News Media and wish him the best of luck in Washington.”

 

The Princeton and Harvard graduate has been most vocal advocating on behalf of veterans, serving as executive director of Vets for Freedom from 2007-2010. He was even considered by Trump to lead the Department of Veterans Affairs during the former president’s first term in office.

 

Few had Hegseth on their radar for the prominent role, as Trump seems set on wasting no time filling out his cabinet ahead of his second term in the Oval Office come January.

Here's Trump's Plan to Purge the Pentagon of the Woke Brass

President-elect Donald J. Trump is sending signals to the military brass. They’re going back to protecting our country, killing our enemies, and enhancing our national security. The era of woke nonsense and sensitivity training is over.

 

The Wall Street Journal first reported on Trump’s plans for the Pentagon, alluding to the “chilling” effect it could have on the officer corps, but the president-elect has a mandate and should use it. The reported executive order would create a “warrior board” of retired generals and other senior personnel who would review the leadership qualities of the officers in question. There’s no re-election effort lingering overhead either, so don’t be shocked if this executive is issued.

It seemed at least for the last three or four days, there might not be the wall-to-wall contentious fights ahead we on the right anticipated. 

Then came the announcement from Donald Trump late Tuesday afternoon that he had chosen his nominee to be the next Secretary of Defense - Pete Hegseth. 

Once the texts started streaming in on my phone, I knew it was time to buckle up, because we were going to encounter unexpected turbulence. The Hegseth choice is certainly Donald Trump thinking outside of the box, which in and of itself is actually a good thing considering the sclerotic atmosphere at the Pentagon. But you can just hear what the complaints are going to be, right? He's a Fox News host. He's unqualified. He's too young. He hasn't run anything. He's not a thinker.

The confirmation hearings are going to be nothing short of spectacular. This nomination will be the one scalp the Democrats in the Senate are going to try to claim. You can just see it coming. After spending some time last night reviewing the record and recordings of Pete Hegseth, I've come to the conclusion that Pete is going to do just fine - both in his confirmation hearing, and on the job as SecDef.

 

The primary objection seems to be that he's a media guy, as though that's suddenly dispositive for not being qualified to go into government. I'm sure that same standard will be applied to the parade of Democrats that have established a conduit between government service and regime media.

The sin of omission in this argument, though, is that nowhere among the left's baying at the Moon is his military service both on active duty and in the Minnesota National Guard, including tours in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Guantanamo Bay, as well as his work as executive director of both Concerned Vets For America and Vets For Freedom. 

 

Pete is 44-years-old. By comparison, the Late Donald Rumsfeld, veteran of two stints at DOD under Presidents Gerald Ford and George W. Bush, began his first tour at the age of 43. Age is not a factor here. 

As for allegedly not knowing anything, regime media and Democrats are overlooking a Bachelor's Hegseth he earned from Princeton, and a Master's from Harvard. He's also done think tank work in his past, affiliated with groups like Americans For Prosperity. He's no dummy. 

Hegseth, if confirmed, is going to be a disruptive force at the Department of Defense, something that building desperately needs.

Why Pete Hegseth Is a Great Choice for Secretary of Defense

Now, in a move that is already drawing a lot of attention, President-elect Donald Trump has announced his pick for Secretary of Defense - Fox News host (which doesn't matter) and Army Airborne soldier, officer, and combat leader (which does.) Mr. Pete Hegseth has served tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, has been awarded two Bronze Stars, and earned a Combat Infantry Badge.

It's a good pick, despite what some critics are saying.

 

I do approve of this appointment and hope it goes through. Here's why.

 

First: The current Department of Defense is, as people in military circles would put it, a gigantic Charlie Foxtrot. (If you don't know what I mean by that, ask a veteran.) We have a Secretary of Defense who disappeared into a hospital - without informing his subordinates, and worse, without informing the president. This is a cardinal sin, and unforgivable; the proper response would have been dismissal. This did not happen. He also oversaw the catastrophically bad withdrawal from Afghanistan. Lloyd Austin is, to put it bluntly, incompetent. As someone said not long ago, it's time to turn the page.

 

Second: The military is not a jobs program for the neurotic. "Transgender" troops and troops with weird fetishes do nothing to advance the military's core mission of finding bad guys and revoking their birth certificates, quickly, efficiently, and decisively. The purpose of a military is to close with and destroy the enemy by fire, maneuver, and shock effect. Anything that forwards that mission is good. Anything that impedes it is bad. This is a matter of the survival of the republic in the event of a major war. China, we should note, appears to be gearing up for a major war - and Pete Hegseth understands that.

 

Third: Despite our current involvement in a variety of conflict zones, we seem to have a surfeit of non-combat leaders in the Department of Defense. The military should not be run by HR types, social-issue experts, DEI consultants, or accountants. The military, starting from the top, should be run by warfighters. When I went to Basic Training at Ft. Dix, New Jersey, all those years ago (before I let them remove my good sense and make me an officer), we had it hammered into us that no matter what we went on to do in the Army, we were above and beyond anything else, combat soldiers - riflemen. 

 

Fourth: Pete Hegseth has been there. He has led men in a war zone. He has smelled the smoke, and knows what it is like to be in a foreign place, to be in danger, to face possible death or maiming - and to have his men look at him and say "Sir, what do we do now?" Making a decision and acting under those conditions is like nothing else in any other field of endeavor. The wrong decision may get the officer and all his men killed, and he may have only seconds to make that decision. Pete Hegseth knows what that is like.

 

Fifth and finally: Major Hegseth harbors no politically correct illusions. He does not support the notion of women in combat, as it degrades combat effectiveness (my wife, also a Desert Storm veteran and also a Bronze Star recipient, happens to agree with him on this). Not only are women hampered by lesser strength, stamina, and resistance to trauma compared to men, but there are psychological implications; to put it bluntly, the men will do stupid things to protect the women. That's how we are wired.

 

 It's time for a new generation, for someone who can whip our military back to what it should be - a lean, mean, fighting machine. Our military must not be used callously or capriciously; our troops should only be sent into the field when there is a compelling U.S. interest to be served. But when they do - the bad guys should be soiling their britches in abject terror from the moment the first American soldier steps off the airplane. I think Pete Hegseth gets that.

The Pentagon is in “absolute disarray” with “generals scrambling” due to the incoming Trump administration’s plans to fire woke senior military leaders who prioritized diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) over combat readiness, according to sources. One source compared it to a hornet’s nest being kicked over and that “DEI pages are starting to disappear off the main websites.” “They’re being archived as we speak. They are full-bore focused on cleaning up anything DEI-related,” the source said. Another source said people are trying to find out if they are on the list to be cut. “They are in panic mode,” the source said.
