How do past Iowa Poll results compare with presidential election results in Iowa?
dgrochester55 Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 At this point, looking at polls are pointless. Any media outlet or person can hand pick whatever polls they want to fit whatever narrative that they want to push. The reality is that the race is going to be close and we have no way of knowing for sure until the election is over.
Big Blitz Posted November 4, 2024 Author Posted November 4, 2024 (edited) Unless for the first time in the 24 years I’ve analyzed these numbers, pollsters decided to boost a Republican, if we show up, he’s winning. I say this bc we are the “need turnout” party now. Edited November 4, 2024 by Big Blitz 2
BillsFanNC Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 Polling outliers. How come we never see a Trump polling outlier like MI +8 or NV +7? Same reason the crossfire hurricane IG report found 17 FBI "errors" all of which were "errors" that favored more illegal surveillance of the Trump campaign, not less. Severe bias.

Trump isn’t a candidate, he’s just wasting space. Where are his handlers?

Tim Walz rules, it’s nice to have a candidate whose entire policy isn’t based on making other people’s lives worse 1

He’s a great guy. When he says something you can definitely take it to the bank! Keep on fluffing young man!

It wasn’t THAT many buildings that were torched and they’ve all been built back better. Plus it was FOUR YEARS AGO. https://www.startribune.com/lake-street-progress-redevelopment-george-floyd-riots/600364728 He’s right if you ignore the part about “years of work remain”. 1

An insider told Politico around the same time that the OVP under Harris “is not a healthy environment and people often feel mistreated.” 1
JDHillFan Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 It will certainly be interesting to see how the various models and pollsters perform. This one-time favorite of the now-absent backintheday544 (that idiotic groping thread he created must have embarrassed him) has Trump at 53-47 likelihood of winning. Oct 23 was 50-50. September 18 was 64-36 for Harris. I think that’s when backintheday liked it. https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2024-election-forecast/

I wonder if those people and small business owners still impacted care. And you think you can determine the quality of a person based on where they stand on free school lunch for all. Embarrassing.

We have moved on. You are assuming the buildings that were burned down were owned by rich people but that's not always the case. A large number of small businesses are owned by LEGAL immigrants to this country where that is their only source of income and they often support multiple generations of family members. I'm sure they were not feeling the joy when Tim Walz did nothing to help save their business and when Kamala bailed the rioters out so they could do it again the next night. 1
