Another Fan Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Or guys you like? I’m not sure how popular that slang is in Buffalo. I don’t use it that much but yeah I warmed up to being called that. Shows the other person thinks of you as their equal kind of thing to me. Quote
Augie Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Never. I worked with a guy who called everyone “guy”. Like “hey, guy, how you doing?” He just couldn’t remember other people’s names. Quote

Since Buffalo is right on the Canadian border.. and lots of us grew up around Canadian hockey players... Some of us picked up Canadian lingo I grew up saying bud or buddy lol Like if I call my friend I still say what's up bud 2 Quote
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted June 3 Posted June 3 I had a buddy who would call me “Broseph” or “Broseppi.” Very cool, but I can’t pull that off. 1 Quote
BillsPride12 Posted June 3 Posted June 3 It's very common slang around here, I don't mind using it appropriately with close friends or even that friend from high school you don't see as often but you guys have that mutual respect for each other....but I absolutely hate it when you go somewhere and a salesman or someone taking your food order tries calling you that. Super corny in those instances. 1 Quote
Gugny Posted June 3 Posted June 3 I’ll use “brother,” but not bro. I think “brother” is more of a term of endearment and I have no problem saying it or being on the receiving end. 1 2 Quote

muppy Posted June 4 Posted June 4 In Christian circles we often call fellow Christians Brother or Sister. My church does (Baptist) I think both are fine. Talking about my sibling I used to call him my bro . RIP Quote
thenorthremembers Posted June 4 Posted June 4 Every once and awhile it slips out. Tend to use brother, boss, man. Yep I am one of those. Quote
