Is it fair to say the majority of fans are comfortable with the Bills most likely moving on from almost any RB after their rookie deal expires (or possibly even before, like with Moss)? Seems like a position you can spend a day two or three pick on every other year to keep the pipeline stocked up on the cheap.

Of course... If they're running really hard and fresh maybe they get a one two year extension

But I would never give another guy four after his original 4....

You're never fresher than the day you leave college realistically

Pay the man.

I was in the camp of willing to let him walk as I really do feel we can get production close to what he’s put up. However, if we can get him for $8-10m I don’t know how you say no.

You. Pay. Your. Weapons.

He adds a dynamic that we have not had.  I was of the don't give RBs 2md contracts camp

Henry, Barkley and Cook have made me reconsider

Ugh.  I hope the off-season isn't here for a while.  I cant take this.

Depends on amount....you shouldnt overpay for a RB - regardless of who he is.  He better be Saquan.  Otherwise - go grab a 3rd round RB and do it over.  Now if he will sign a team friendly deal - sure...love to keep him.

Your English must be my second language. Sorry.

It appears we posted at the exactly the same time. I’ll be sure to pause before clicking “Submit Reply” just to be sure you’re going to post something else. Again, sorry for saying something similar I guess.

I'm open to him playing next year and then tagging him. I'm sure he would not be tok happy but that would keep him a Bill through his age 27 season. Committing money to a running back long term worries me because it is a lower impact position and after 28 they tend to drop off.

I do take the point on Cook has less tred on the tires than most having never been a bell cow in college, but as much as I like him I don't think you throw big money at him.

Super tough call. He's so good now. I think he wants to stay, but who knows. He'd have to take a discount to resign him from the free market is where I'm at.

Cook is a really good player.  If I was 12 years old, I would be upset if the Bills let him walk.  But despite the impact Saquan Barkely and Derrick Henry have had on their teams, its not clear either of them are ending up Super Bowl champs.

If the Bills win the Super Bowl this year, I happily run back every player on the team including Cook for next year.  Otherwise, it is simply a question of what trade offs I need to make to keep Cook vs. some other players.

Im up on the air with him.  I generally don’t like to pay RB’s but he’s been electric this year.  I honestly think he could take it to the house on any touch.

It's tough, I think with how well the O-Line is playing Davis next year and whoever we bring in would get good production, but I do think he adds some extra umph to it. Just hard to tie that much money to a RB when you could get a good amount of production from the position anyway and could put that money somewhere else, maybe another good WR or into the defense.

I say keep putting money into both trenches.  Decent RB’s look great behind good OL and everything on defense works better when you wreak havoc up front.
