Singletary and "the bag of balls" backs with him scared no one -- even after Devon gutted out eight yards, he was going down. Cook and Johnson can both take it to the house. Sleep on that at your peril. Big help for the passing game. Not really true about Singletary. He had a bunch of long runs. His longest in 2019 was 38 yards, 51 in 2020, 46 in 2021 and 33 in 2022. A bunch of TDs of over 20 yards. Cook is more explosive, but Singletary was not undangerous. Cook looked pretty elite last year, especially down the stretch. I thought Ty Johnson was a helluva addition and was a very valuable contributor - has size and speed. And I am so excited about Davis, who I think will bring a lot to the table receiving and running - as well as a can of whoopass. Would not shock me if Gore sneaks on the roster and contributes as well - his old man will kill him if he doesn't! So much better than when we had Singletary and a bag of balls. Loved Singletary, but he was a little small and a little slow. This group is really talented. "Elite" is a bit strong for Cook. Damn good, though. I wish he was a bit stronger at pass blocking. It's a weakness in an area that's really important on this team. But he can catch and he's fast and even pretty decent running up the middle. Edited May 28 by Thurman#1 Quote

Was 4th in the league in rushing and 2nd in scrimmage yards. That is elite. His drops were disheartening when they happened but percent of the his targets caught were only behind Shakir. Cook will be the focal point of the offense. Whether he is running it our designed plays for him in space. He showed he can handle a starting workload. I expect to see him used more this year outside. Take advantage of match ups with him from the slot or outside. He is a unique player like Kamara and McCaffery. Quote
