Former Steelers Great Antonio Brown Is Broke; Now He's Filed For Bankruptcy (steelernation.com)

Quote

From his CTESPN account, Brown announced that he has officially filed for bankruptcy. With all the bridges that he has burned, as well as his known refusal of paying anyone what they are owed, it makes sense as to why people are not interested in helping Brown to fund whatever he decides to do anymore.

No word on if he did it the Michael Scott route...

Antonio Brown, Bwahahahahaha

It is unreal how history has a way of repeating itself. AB is a unique character but the age old story of quick big money paid to an athlete or celebrity going down the toilet is old and tired.

Hope the guy can find his way through the demons of his life.

Keep laughing at him. This is a classic case of CTE.

His stepdad says he’s always been like this. I think he’s just mentally ill.

An unsurprising demise for someone that thought they were bigger than the sport itself.

Who knows, our society has such an appetite for dysfunctional drama though that maybe he'll get his own reality show now.

Someone with a life perspective attitude like his that's broke, what could possibly go wrong.

He's fortunate that he's not already in prison, that could change very quickly.

"He will be a first ballot Hall of Famer in 2027" the tweet reads

His last NFL game and off the field antics are all but guaranteed to keep that from happening.

There’s a difference between ADHD and CTE.

Whatever laugh at him and feel better about yourselves. Every last one of you will hide under a rock and pretend like you didn’t laugh after it comes out how damaged his brain was.

Very proud of your Armchair Diagnostician Certificate, aintcha?  Bet you have it framed and mounted on your wall.

AB has a history of erratic behavior that stretches back before college - he was expelled from FIU before he played a snap for them.  He had trouble at Central Michigan showing up for meetings and practices.  It seems as though numerous people at different times of his life tried to take him under their wing and help him starting with his WR coach in college and his wife and ending with Tom Brady.

He may have a mental illness, he may have a medical condition that affected his brain starting in childhood and kept him from ever really learning to adult, he may have CTE.  And, drug use and alcohol may well have played a role.  Sitting in a chair hundreds or thousands of miles away and never having examined or tested or treated the guy, you can't possibly know what the root cause of his problems and behavior is.

We do know there are plenty of guys who have taken as many hits as AB ever did or more who are far more functional.
