I am male.  I grew up in a household with my brother, dad, and mom.  We always left the toilet seat up when finished.  Logic was that young boys would not have to remember to lift the seat when peeing

I once had a non-romantic, female roommate. She literally drove into my workplace, to let me know I left the toilet seat up. She was an absolute lunatic so this was the norm for her.
