Despite a bad regular season last year he made crucial catches in the playoffs to help them again. Hopefully he can bring that success to the Bills. Just how much success does a 50% completion percentage, and a 7% drop rate bring? 7 hours ago, Warriorspikes51 said: MVS would have made the plays that Diggs and Sherfield didn't He is a big game player and has consistently delivered in the playoffs Based on what? It can bring timely catches in big moments. Sometimes it’s not only about the overall stats of a player.
Rocky Landing
I have a hard time accepting this narrative that MVS becomes a better player during the playoffs, so don't worry about his crappy numbers in the regular season. I have yet to read an acceptable justification for the fact that MVS has the worst completion percentage, and the worst drop rate of every WR on this team. It may or may not transpire that way but there’s historical prove backing up that optimism. During the 2022 AFGCG KC receivers were almost all injured leaving MVS as the only viable starter left in that game. He stepped up and KC went on to the Super Bowl. During last year’s playoffs run he was hauling in timely tough catches including 2 against the Bills. So there’s a reason for optimism. This is very similar to the narrative on Gabe Davis at the beginning of last season. I guess you can be optimistic in watching his playoff games. But it was really only the Divisional, and AFCCG that he excelled. Beyond a nice TD, his numbers were paltry in the Super Bowl. Be that as it may, MVS played in 20 games last season. Not three. I really don't want to sound like such a downer on this guy. If he ends up on the 53-- which is likely, I suppose-- I'll be optimistic as hell. But, I don't see him all that high on the depth chart. And I really don't see him as a "difference maker" for the Bills. He wasn't a difference maker for the Chiefs. He was fourth in receiving yards for them-- just ahead of TE Noah Grey. I completely get your pov. Hard to dismiss the abysmal regular season stats. I’d be shocked if he’s not on the final roster. Let’s see how he can contribute in the playoffs. Like you I’m not very optimistic about his regular season contributions.
JohnBonhamRocks
MVS is a fine WR4 and anything extremely more positive or negative than that is probably just an unreasonable take
