That’s partially true. They generally hope to split the money, but they don’t pursue that at the expense of setting the line wrong in terms of what they actually expect to happen. Whether or not he can extract his head from his ass is a different story, but he’s Brandon Aiyuk on the field. The narrative I was discounting is basically “if the Chiefs drafted a WR, he’s probably going to bust”. Feels like his numbers might be a little skewed by there being only one other receiving target having any success that year, and even he was having a down year for a good portion of it.
