Wacka Posted May 6 Posted May 6 (edited) Remember going to a bar and seeing people crowding around a Pac Man game watching a person breaking a 100 K score. Lived in Sunnyvale, CA for a couple of years and there was a small comedy club/bar called Rooster T. Fethers (may still be in businesss). Nolan Bushnell (founder of Atari and Chuck E. Cheese) installed the first Pong game there. The next morning, the owner of the club called to tell him the game was broken. He showed up and found that the coin box was full. No one had anticipated the demand. Edited May 6 by Wacka Quote
shrader Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Along with the turtles and the Simpsons game, I also remember playing an X-Men button masher a lot. I was always hooked on Spy Hunter without actually playing it. You can’t beat that theme song. I was always staring at that machine at the ice rink during my older brother’s games. I was also a pinball fan. No specific ones really stick out to me, but I would play anything I could find. Quote

Oops, too many. High Speed pinball was literally the first thing that came to my mind. The second was a game called Space Fury. shrader Posted May 10 Posted May 10 In hindsight, I really love the design of the demo screens for so many games. They’re moving along pretty well, then out of nowhere die a truly stupid death. Kids watch that and think “hey, I need to play this because I would never do that”. Quote

Honorable mention to this game which foresaw a glorious future of hunting Cybertrucks in the salt flats. 1 Quote
