Exhibit 2 that Beane does not draft BPA in Rd 1 or 2, but rather by need. In case you forget this, you can come back and read it.

So what teams DO draft 100% BPA if I may ask?

Once you have a reasonably good team, seems to me you can't draft entirely BPA, or you wind up with too many OLmen and no DB or vice versa.

I think all the good teams draft need-modified or need-influenced BPA.

WR and S are filled.  Pick #95 could be a player from numerous positions.

DL maybe ?

Seems like a strong safety, which is Rapp's position. Looks like Mike Edwards is their free safety.

off chance Hyde comes back as a cagey vet in a reduced role they could have a lot of talent and package options in the back of the defense

jordan poyer maybe enters the chat? (Depending on young definition lol)

Tredavious White enters the chat

😂

heck Levi Wallace was solid too

It’s rare that we don’t get a ton of value out of our dbs

I believe so from the scouting reports.

I would think edwards would be a better

fit but 🤷🏻‍♂️

Maybe they did the work and then concluded they didn't want him.

Or maybe they did the work, concluded they did want him, but had Cole Bishop higher on their board?

I close it for a few minutes to get everyone to comment about our pic in the right topic. This isn’t a group of Norman Einsteins.

This was great idea, and exactly what I thought. Well done.

This is a solid pick.  He's fast for a S, has good instincts, and can hit pretty well too.  Good athlete on the back end that should grow into a very good replacement for Poyer sooner rather than later.

I mean, the thing is, I will never worry about any secondary picks we make because the one thing McDermott and his system does is maximize player's talents on the back end.  Elam might be the exception here, but his skill set never fit with the system we run.  Wouldn't surprise me at all if he ends up being a solid player somewhere else someday.

This ^^^  Beane is a BPA at position of need guy, just like every other good GM,

It’s great how he uses “shoot” in every other sentence. lol.  He probably does it in place of swearing, ya know, being in Salt Lake City and all.  Gotta keep it clean.

Like this pick. With Mike Edwards and Cole Bishop and Rapp backing them up we should be fine at S.

How do you figure McDermott of all coaches, is going to bench Rapp for a rookie?  Not happening, look at Rapps contract combined with the fact he has a year in the system.
