Governor Posted April 26 Posted April 26 6 minutes ago, Lost said: Curious...Do u guys like Coleman over Worthy? Definitely. Worthy was the last thing we needed. Look, we tried it. Josh can’t hit these tiny WR’s down the field. It’s a teeny tiny target. We need guys that can snag poorly thrown passes and we need the ball up higher. 1 2 Quote
thewookie1 Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Coleman scares me because he has all the super attributes without any speed and Beane + McDermott seem to love the physical freaks when taking receivers versus creating separation. Also screams Gabe Davis replacement because blocking is a WR's main duty.... Quote

The Frankish Reich Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Just now, Beck Water said: Pro Tip: don't pay attention to Zierlein's round or NFL outcome predictions. They are all over the place. Do pay attention to his strengths and weakness listings. They are what I nod when I come back to. Example: Matt Milano was assessed as an "average backup or special teamer" with an overall 5.9 grade. But his strengths listing had this to say: "Wonderfully aggressive. Heat-seeking missile who looks for contact. Form tackler looking to strike, lift, and bury. Former safety with disciplined vision and above-average instincts. Can get home as blitzer. Reacts quickly to play-action screen passes and reverses. Good straight-line speed and revved motor for extended tackle range. Has some coverage ability in space. Durable two-year starter playing more than 94 percent of his team's defensive snaps. Accelerates through contact. Speed and toughness creates potential opportunities at multiple linebacker spots." [That's my little Guido Torpedo] So Zierlein analysis of Coleman's strengths: "Above-the-rim artist with circus catches resembling a scene from the tents of Cirque du Soleil. Coleman has excellent size and ball skills. He’s not sudden and doesn’t have great speed, so beating press and creating breathing room against tight man coverages will depend on his ability to improve as a route-runner. The former star basketball player has a rebounder’s blend of extension and timing to give jump-ball defenders the blues. He’s big and strong with soft hands" I've been complaining that our WR get shoved off their routes by physical coverage, that we seldom see the 'circus catch' from them, that our guys give us 'focus drops' at key situations. Sounds as though Beane set out to change that, and feels as though for a basketball player, the release moves can be coached up. McD likes WRs who block too. It is overlooked, but it matters. Not sure who Xavier Worthy is blocking. 3 1 Quote
QLBillsFan Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Just now, gonzo1105 said: Yes I think he can play outside and be a very good # 2 WR in the NFL. To me he’s very Keenan Allen like. You put him all over the place you don’t just line him up and let him go. He’s going to win in the intermediate in the NFL. He’s not a take the top off a defense guy but he’ll live over the middle at 12-15 yards in the NFL with Dig Routes. The Bills were not coming out of this draft with a # 1 WR. I have said 50 receptions and 700 yards should be the expectation for a rookie as I believe Kincaid becomes the focal point Yes outside all day. He’s not a slot on Bills. Quote

I then had Mason Rudolph third , Lamar Jackson fourth , Sam Darnold 5th (I don't trust USC QBs) and Josh Rosen 6th. You should get an application into OBD. Quote

Let the kid take the field before we decide he's a bust. They'll have a plan for him. I’m always amused how convinced people are of their skills in evaluating talent. Puka Nacua ran a 4.57 and was a 5th rounder last year… and caught 100+ balls for nearly 1500 yards. It’s an inexact science at best. 5 5 Quote

Bills Juggernaut Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Josh doesn't throw contested balls. He throws to open guys. He gets away with it because he can get the ball there so fast with his cannon arm. His long balls are not great as he tends to overthrows because he’s afraid of getting the pic or so he's so excited that he puts too much into it. This is the exact receiver he doesn’t need as he can't separate to be open and doesn’t have that second after burner gear to catch the overthrown long balls I don’t understand this pic at all. 3 1 1 1 Quote
Eastport bills Posted April 26 Posted April 26 All the draft specialists on this board should understand 73% of the receivers drafted in the 1st round since 2014 washed out and never got a 2nd contract. No one knows who translates into a productive player. I do know Keon is a physically tough receiver that will dominate on 50/50 balls and reminds me of Keenan Allen. 1 1 Quote
BullBuchanan Posted April 26 Posted April 26 kind of a weird pick for a big slow guy here. I don't know much about him, but I see the pick getting panned pretty hard compared to McConkey. Not sure what that skill set does int his offense though. Would have preferred the trade down here, but oh well. Hopefully he's decent for us. Quote
