HappyDays Posted April 22 Posted April 22 With the caveat that I know very little about hockey, this seems like the type of move a sports franchise makes when it has lost all confidence in its abilities to make good decisions. I'm not surprised Pegula did it. 2 1 2 2 1 Quote

I'm not surprised Pegula did it. NHL is a coaching retread league. They typically just hire the same coaches over and over until theyβre too old. The Sabres on the other hand have been hiring inexperienced coaches. The one retread they hired after drafting Eichel was Bylsma and he was considered a moron around the league, no one else would hire. Β This is a quality hire by NHL standards. Ruff knows what heβs doing. He should do what heβs done everywhere, compete for a presidents trophy and make the playoffs. I wouldnβt expect a cup though as he hasnβt gotten over that hill. 5 1 Quote

Β The Devils won last year in spite of Lindy. Β This year the Devils totally miscalculated their goaltending situation and Lindy's outdated system and lack of in game adjustments were too much to handle. Β Lindy was fired WAY TOO LATE from the Devils and there is a reason he was fired in the first place. Β Good luck Sabres fans. 1 Quote
WhitewalkerInPhilly Posted April 22 Posted April 22 I'm usually against retreads but nothing has worked in 14 years. Ruff is literally the last coach to take them to the playoffs.Β 1 Quote

The guy 5th in all time wins had nothing to do with the winning.Β Β Listen, they said the same stuff about Lindy in Buffalo, multiple times. He won the division 3 different ways in Buffalo. RunTheBall Posted April 22 Posted April 22 Itβs the most Buffalo of Buffalo moves and I absolutely LOVE IT! Β This is either going to be made into a Disney film when we win the Cup with Lindy or an absolute dumpster fire leading to a full house cleaning and Iβm here for all of it! Β 3 3 2 Quote
