TSW Mock Draft 3.0 - Completed!

With the 8th Pick in the Stadium wall Mock Draft the Atlanta Falcons select Edge Rusher Dallas Turner Alabama.

 

After spending serious capital and resources on the Offense over the past years the Falcons draft someone who should help their Defense.  They had Turner in their sites all along unless someone fell unsuspectedly. 

They are happy in Atlanta.

IMHO this pick is almost as much of a lock as Caleb to Chicago if he is on the board (Chargers could snag him at 5 though if the smoke about Harbaugh wanting to focus on the trenches first has legs and they don't trade back).  Titans probably already have the card filled out ha

Nice, I think the pick is either Byron Murphy or Dallas Turner myself too.  Personally, I have a feeling its gonna be Murphy, but if not then it will likely be Turner.  Both would be good picks for them as they need to address the whole DL.

the Commanders feel great trading back, picking up extra picks this year and next while still getting one of the QBs they eyed all along. Like we announced earlier, we are more than just a QB away from contending, this gives us our guy as well as the extra picks to surround him with players that can make a difference. I knew I may need to trade back up to sneak ahead of Min or LV to get our guy. We’re completely fine with giving up some later round picks here. 
 

fwiw, I liked Maye, and Daniels more, and would have taken them at 2 but I didn’t love either of them so much that I didn’t feel good about getting McCarthy, AND the extra picks

I have felt all along its qbs in the first 3 picks mhj to arizona then the vikings trading up with the chargers at 5.  The Chargers could then use 11 and 23 to draft one of each of those guys.

With the 10th pick in the 2024 TSW 3.0 NFL draft, the New Jersey Jets select Brock Bowers, TE, Georgia.

 

A pretty straightforward selection for the Jets. They want to load up for a playoff run with Rogers while he's still capable.

I'd argue this was the easier pick outside of Williams #1 overall.  The Jets have not been subtle about who they want

I don't see any scenario the Commanders trade out of this pick. But for this exercise, I get it. Though I would have taken Penix instead of McCarthy.

With the 11th pick, in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings select....... Byron Murphy II, Defensive Tackle, Texas. 

 

After Daniels was off the board at #3, there was no QB worth trading up for in our eyes. The defense, however, does need some work as well. We take whom we feel is the best DT in this draft. A guy who will slot in as a 5-Tech in base sets, and a 3-Tech when we go into our 4 man fronts. He gets after it on the interior, having had 6 sacks and generating 36 pressures this past season. He is also stout against the run. A true 3-down interior defender. Brian Flores rejoices. 

 

 

Side note: Been so busy at work today I missed my chance at trading up for Daniels, who was my guy. C'est last vie.

I actually like Pennix quite a bit and would have taken him at 12. Problem was I thought I was going to get jumped for both these guys. So I made the pick I made.

Nice pick, I think Murphy is coming off the board much earlier than people think and will be either the first or 2nd defender to come off the board.  He is popular mock to Bengals at 18 or Seattle at 16 (I think there is no way he gets past Seattle though) but I think he might go as high as 8 to Falcons (assuming they don't have their first round stripped in next couple of days for tampering) or possibly 9 to Bears.
